Mozo snapshot:

The ANZ Access Advantage account is your standard bank account with unlimited ANZ ATM access, internet and phone banking. It has a $5 monthly service fee which is value for money if you need regular branch access or teller assistance. If you do all your banking electronically there are other fee free options on the market that are worth considering.

Key features:

There are no minimum opening deposits or minimum balance requirements with an ANZ Access Advantage account. You'll get unlimited transactions from ANZ ATMs, phone and internet banking, full branch access, and EFTPOS.

As with most everyday transaction accounts the interest on balances is minimal - 0% on balances under $50,000, 1% above $50,000 and 2% over $100,000.

The ANZ Access Advantage account comes with a Visa debit card that has PayWave access, so you can make transactions under $100 simply by flashing your card. Plus Visa debit transaction have ANZ's Falcon fraud protection monitoring so you'll have peace of mind when online shopping.

If you're heading overseas you'll need to plan carefully if you want to avoid high fees with the ANZ Access Advantage. Overseas ATM withdrawals cost $5 a pop and purchases attract a 3.0% foreign exchange commission.

Who it's good for:

The ANZ Access Advantage is particularly good for anyone who needs full branch access on a regular basis as all over the counter and teller assistance is included in the $5 monthly fee.

If you are a full time student the monthly account fee can be waived.

Any catches?

The ANZ Access Advantage account has a $1000 a day ATM withdrawal limit, so you'll need to plan in advance if you're going to make any large purchases.

      Being an employee of Wesfarmers I pay no account keeping fees so have and do recommend the ANZ to fellow employees because it saves me money every month. I rarely visit bank branches as most of my bank needs are met through Eftpos and phone banking. The only con is the cost for phone banking for the call. I also have 2 progress savings accounts with one held jointly and I am very happy with the interest rate.
