Key features: On the surface, a pretty standard no fee credit card. 55 days interest free, an interest rate of 20.99% and a so-so balance transfer offer of 4.99% for 6 months. But beneath the surface is the best travel credit card in Australia...
No overseas transaction fees means you can buy online or in stores overseas and not be hit with the currency conversion fees standard to most other credit cards or bank accounts - fees which can add up to big amounts over the course of a fancy holiday.
One of the greatest strengths of the card is the ability to withdraw from overseas ATMs without being slammed with fees. As there are no fees for cash advances, if you put the card into credit - just transfer money onto it like you're paying a bill - you are good to go. Some ATMs will have small fees charged by their operators but apart from that you'll have access to your money without paying a cent.
But it doesn't stop there! The 28 Degrees MasterCard has the best exchange rate you'll get on any Australian credit card - in fact it's the only card with a 0% XR margin. That means any purchase or cash withdrawal will be as close to the 'spot rate' as you can get. Awesome.
NB This card has replaced the Wizard Clear Advantage Credit Card, but has not changed a great deal apart from the facelift.
Who it's good for: If you travel or buy from international stores online, this is the card for you.
Any catches? If you plan to put you card into credit so you can withdraw cash from ATMs, be sure it STAYS in credit. If you get carried away, you'll find yourself using 28 Degrees money, not yours. If this happens you'll be charged an interest rate of 20.99% on your dollars, euros, pounds, yuan, yen whatever.

I was excited when i first heard of the 28 Degrees card, and it sounds good on paper. I did see a lot of reviews about bad experiences with customer service, however discounted it as i do not usually have to deal with customer service, not usually running into problems. However, I had problems from Day 1. There was an issue with the ID form from Australia Post, I had to fill it out twice! I assumed the first one was lost, however; as the second form was making it's way back, I received my card! The card activation is not automated. I had to wait on the phone for about 50mins before i got to speak to someone. I B-Pay'ed into the account so that the card was in credit to enable cash advances without penalties - and the money got lost in the system! This was all 1 week beore i was to go overseas. I hence lost the amount I had B-Pay'd and had to buy a cash passport, nullifying the 28 Degrees card. The money came through after i filed a complaint and an investigation - but i was already 2 weeks into my holidays. I understand that I didnt actually lose any money, but I had budgeted a certain amount for the holidays - and put this onto the card. When it didnt show up, I had to come up with that amount of money AGAIN - and am then spending twice the inital budgeted amount. After it was resolved - i get a letter saying that the card which were issued in that time had a faulty chip! and had to be replaced! another 50mins to activate card. And after all of that, no apology. I would have cancelled the card if there was an annual fee.

MONEY we had no problems with them and would have thought that we had an A1 Credit rating with them. We are retired and on pensions with just under 1mil dollars in assets and cash also have a credit card with another bank with zero outstanding but 28 degrees do NOT take any of that in to account and won't say why!

I recently got the 28 degreed Mastercard as I was moving to Singapore for three months. There is no account keeping fees and no foreign exchange transactions fees charged on the card which was fantastic as I could not take 3 months of cash with me but also did not want to open a local account over there. I was able to manage my card online with ease and had no problems using it wherever I went. I have now recommended it to all my family and friends that are travelling for any period of time, I think its great.

This card has great features for international travellers with its fee free international transactions. It has no annual fee which appeals to the budget conscience travellers, further it can act as an international ATM Card if the user pays enough money into the card to achieve a Credit balance, allowing for immediate cash at airports without needing to accept the awful money exchange rates at airport currency exchange. Overall, a fantastic card a must have travellers. On bar with NAB Gold, but without the minimum deposit requirement in order to remain fee free.
