If you are after a premium rewards card for your premium spending the ANZ Rewards Platinum credit card has a lot to offer, especially considering it was awarded a 2023 Mozo Experts Choice Award for best Premium Card Benefits. Plus if you spend $1,500 on eligible purchases in the first three months, you'll receive 50,000 bonus Rewards Points.
With the ANZ Rewards Platinum Card, you'll bag 1.5 ANZ Reward Points per $1 on the first $2,500 you spend per statement period. After that, the earn rate will drop down to 0.5 per $1. Plus, new card holders can receive 80,000 bonus Rewards Points and $50 when they spend at least $2,000 on eligible purchases in the first 3 months from approval.
Reward Points are redeemed through the ANZ reward program. You spend your rewards on a wide range of items from flights, shopping, merchandise and cash back. You can choose to have an additional card holder attached to the account to help you accrue Reward Points faster but this will cost an extra $65.
There is an annual card fee of $94 as well as a $55 annual rewards program fee. The card comes with a standard interest rate of 20.49% for purchases but you get up to 55 interest free days. There is a 3% foreign exchange margin on all transactions made overseas whether made in person or online.
As a premium card you get a number of premium services such as 24/7 concierge, access to eDine (special dining and hotel offers as 2000 establishments), complimentary membership to Visa Entertainment and the ANZ wine club. In fact, the premium benefits offered with the card is why it was awarded a 2023 Mozo Experts Choice award.
In addition there are the six complimentary insurances that will cover your lifestyle including domestic and international travel insurance, a guaranteed pricing scheme, extended warranty, purchase protection insurance, interstate flight inconvenience and rental vehicle excess insurance (in Australia).
Keep in mind, eligibility criteria, T&Cs, fees and charges apply.
The ANZ Rewards Platinum card is a great rewards choice for people who don't want to be locked into an airline only program for their rewards choices and will get the most out of the annual fee by taking advantage of the travel and entertainment privileges that come standard with the card.
To hold the card, you'll need to be 18 or over, and be a permanent Australian resident or a non-permanent resident with more than 9 months remaining on your Visa.
Just be sure to automate your repayments or you'll be up for a $20 late payment fee.

Online ID check was absolutely a joke. I inserted personal details and reference number then it popped up with no reference found. I ring up CS, over an hour waiting, next thing I was told that I need to visit a branch. When I show up in branch, the customer manager told me that I need an appointment before they can look at my issue. Anyway, to cut the story short. The branch sends me back to the call centre, then long wait before someone answers and then tells me to go back to the branch. I ended up cancelling the card before even it activated. Super disappointed with ANZ services!

I like the product. Safety of using my platinum rewards card. Once the bank alerted me that my card had been used to by airline tickets in another country and they refunded me really fast.

There is really not much to dislike about this card if you travel a few times a year and are able to pay it off in full before the due date. It includes travel insurance, a return flight to a destination in Australia and the Virgin Lounge passes have opened my eyes to the benefits of airport lounges. The rewards program often has got me enough points to score a second seat on a flight. If you don't travel often or don't use a credit card for your every day spending to collect points, then the annual fee may not make it worth it. I'm not sure what the interest rate is like, I have a vague memory it was higher than some other cards, but if you are like me and pay the card off in full every fortnight, the interest rate is of no consequence since I never pay interest.

Great if you need travel insurance. Interest rates are still high but you can always pay off before the due date.
