Aussie Home Loans

Aussie Home Loans has been giving the big banks a run for their money for over 15 years. “Aussie John” Symond founded Aussie Home Loans in 1992 to shake up the home loans market, attracting hundreds of thousands of customers around Australia.

Aussie Home Loans has since expanded into a national mortgage broking service as well as Aussie-branded credit cards, car loans, personal loans and insurance to give consumers a banking alternative. In December 2008, Aussie cemented its position as Australia’s leading non-bank lender by buying out rival Wizard Home Loans.

They give very little leeway to customers with problems. We were stuck in the tsunami in Samoa in Sept 09, had no communications either internet, phone, TV, radio or otherwise and all ATMs were down for 10 days. When we returned we explained why our payment had been late, there was no physical way I could pay it and they cancelled our card anyway!!! Aussie stinks!!! – Deborah from New South Wales, an Aussie credit card customer.   Reviewed 28 days ago

Rude service once signed up, have been actually lied to by a representative. Excessive fees, internet banking unreliable. Unethical business practices. – Sarah from Western Australia, an Aussie credit card customer.   Reviewed 2 months ago

I recently asked Aussie for a temporary limit increase to my credit card (as I'm going on holiday and wanted to be covered) and they made me fill out a new form rather than just doing it over the phone. It was only a $1000 increase so it seemed a bit silly. – Rachel from New South Wales, an Aussie credit card customer.   Reviewed 4 months ago
