    Bankwest Zero Review

    Review published: 24 January 2012

    What's hot:

    • $0 Annual fee
    • 1.00% purchase rate for first 6 months
    • 4.99% balance transfer rate for 12 months

    What's not:

    • Late repayment and overlimit fees

    Mozo snapshot:

The Bankwest Zero Mastercard is a simple, no frills credit card for the everyday credit card user. You'll never pay an annual fee and for a limited time you could be enjoying a 1.00% purchase rate for 6 months and a leisurely 12 month balance transfer rate of 4.99%.

Key features: Zero, zilch, nada - no matter what language you say it in you'll never pay an annual fee with the Bankwest Zero Mastercard. Unlike some credit cards that have no annual fee for the first year but then start charging $50 or more, the BankWest Zero Mastercard has no annual fee for the life of the card.

There's no rewards program attached to the Bankwest Zero but who needs one when you're rewarded with a 1.00% purchase rate for the first 6 months. Keep in mind however, the purchase rate reverts to 17.99% once the 6 month promotional period expires but you'll have a comfortable 55 day interest free period for repayments.

And the introductory 4.99% balance transfer offer for the first 12 months should also help those credit cardholders looking to drop some debt this year.

Who it's good for: If you're looking for a low maintenance credit card with a great purchase rate and the convenience of the Mastercard network, the Bankwest Zero Mastercard deserves your attention.

Any catches? The 1.00% purchase rate offer is only available via online applications but fear not, if you get stuck Bankwest has 24 hour online or phone assistance.

Staying on top of your bills will save you from being hit with a $35 late repayment fee. Also, be aware of your credit limit or a $30 over limit fee could come your way.
