The Emirates Citibank Platinum credit card offers big spenders and frequent flyers all the perks to enjoy the high life. You'll receive a whopping 25,000 bonus points after your first spend on the card and a very luxurious 12 months to pay off any debt you transfer to the card.
Key features: Earn 1.5 skyward miles for every dollar spent. Rewards points are converted into free travel with Emirates, and that $229 annual fee buys you platinum perks including free international travel insurance concierge service, a pass for two to any Australian Emirates Lounge and a chauffeur-driven ride to and from the airport once a year. A complimentary bottle of wine when cardholders dine at participating restaurants is a nice touch, too.
Who it's good for: Those who hit the plastic hard and don't bat an eyelid at annual fees or interest rates - because it's all about the perks.
Any catches? The 0.9% balance transfer rate gives you a very leisurely 12 month window to jettison any excess baggage from previous credit cards, but once this introductory offer departs, the rate skyrockets to 21.24%. Also, points are capped at 150,000 pa and expire at 36 months.

Good on points, bad with hidden fees.
I like the fact that they call if your statement is overdue without sending intimidating letters. Negative aspects of the card are - my chip is faulty and a replacement will cost me $80 as it is deemed the equivalent to a new/ additional card fee.... Full review
I like the fact that they call if your statement is overdue without sending intimidating letters. Negative aspects of the card are - my chip is faulty and a replacement will cost me $80 as it is deemed the equivalent to a new/ additional card fee. Although the card still works, it causes inconvenience when shopping as it must be swiped three times. Also having an additional card holder also comes at an $80 fee; All in all quite pricey - let's hope the points bring a decent return!
