Mozo snapshot:
The St George Vertigo Mastercard is a great credit card if you're looking to conquer your debts in 2012. It has a dizzying 0.99% balance transfer rate for 12 months, low standard 13.24% purchase rate and $55 annual fee.
Key features: The St George Vertigo card has one of the lower standard purchase rates on the market at 13.24% and a leisurely 55 day interest free period. The long balance transfer offer of 0.99% for 12 months makes this a good card for anyone who is looking to spread out their repayments and save a heap on interest. Unlike other credit cards that revert to high cash advance rates of 20% or more after the balance transfer offer ends, any debts remaining on the St George Vertigo Card will revert to the low 13.24% purchase rate after 12 months.
While other cards can charge $35 or more for late payments, the St George Vertigo card only has a $9 fee for the odd late payment.
Who it's good for: If debt clearing is your new years resolution for 2012, the St George Vertigo should be your weapon of choice.
Any catches? Don't procrastinate! The St George Vertigo balance transfer offer is only available until 11 April 2012. Also, existing St George, Bank SA and Bank of Melbourne credit card holders will be disappointed to learn that the balance transfer offer is only available to new customers.
