Along with the great reward points and bonus travel insurance that comes with my card, Westpac have just upgraded me to a Platinum card at no extra cost which truly made me feel like a valued customer. I would recommend this particular credit card along with Westpac bank as a whole.

This was my first ever credit card (yes, I was a late adapter). I asked for a nice modest $2000 limit, yet they gave me $12,500, on my FIRST CARD! I asked them several times to reduce it to a sane level. They never got around to it. Lucky I am too paranoid to put anything on it. Oh, and $150 in fees per year for a basic credit card is outrageous.

I really like this credit card as it is accepted everywhere, fees are reasonable & interest can be managed. The Altitude Rewards program is a real bonus, particularly as you can buy a huge range of gift cards across all retail sectors. My only complaint is that the Altitude Rewards centre is very difficult to communicate with, their website is unfriendly and once you have ordered a product it is hard to find out about delivery. In short the rewards are good but the administration of the rewards program is pretty terrible.

The Altitude card is easy and flexible - I can build up my points by using an associated Amex card which offers more rewards points. The rewards website is really easy to navigate and has an option to pay part of the reward, telling you how many points you need, and I love the Westpac internet banking website - again, easy to navigate and easily accessible on my phone. The Altitude Card Rewards program is a great bonus however make sure you pay your monthly payments in total if possible (at least more than the minimum amount) or the interest on purchases can defeat the purpose of paying higher annual fees for a rewards program card. It may often be cheaper to source goods or services elsewhere from the rewards offerings but I enjoy their special offers and great to put points towards flights for holidays.
