Mozo snapshot:
The Woolworths Everyday Money Credit Card is a great credit card if you're a regular shopper at Woolworths and Woolies owned outlets like Big W, Dan Murphy's, Caltex, BWS, and Dick Smiths. It has a 5.99% balance transfer rate for six months, no annual fee for the first year and rewards points are converted into shopping gift cards which help cut down the cost of your groceries.
Key features:
The Woolworths Everyday Money credit card has an $49 annual fee but this is waived for the first year of the card. If you're good at paying back your debt on time the Woolworths Everyday Money Credit Card has a 55 day interest free period. Like all credit cards you don't want to fall behind on your payments or you'll be hit with a $35 late fee and there's also a $35 fee if you go over your limit.
If you already own a credit card and are looking at a way of saving on interest payments, the Woolworths Everyday Money Credit Card lets you transfer that debt with a balance transfer rate of 5.99% for the first 6 months. Be sure to pay the balance off in time though or you'll be paying back the remaining debt at the full cash advance rate of 21.34%.
Earning rewards with The Woolworths Everyday Money Credit Card is simple:
- You earn 3 points for every dollar spent on Woolworths branded 'Select' products.
- 2 points for every $1 spent in Woolworths and a number of other Woolworths owned outlets such as Dan Murphy's, Big W, Dick Smith, Thomas Dux and Woolworths liquor
- 1 point for every $1 spent elsewhere
Every 4 months the points are converted into a Woolworths Everyday Money Shopping Card and you'll need around 4000 points to receive $20. Working just like a gift card, the Shopping Card will help knock down your grocery bill but don't hold on to them for too long. The Woolworths Everyday Money Shopping Card will expire 3 months after it's issued.
Who it's good for:
Anyone looking to save on interest of their credit card but ultimately best for loyal 'Fresh Food' people.
Any catches?
The Woolworths Everyday Money Card is unashamedly biased. Points can only be redeemed at Woolworths and Woolworths partners. If these rewards don't work for you and you prefer flight rewards from your credit card maybe consider the Woolworths Everyday Rewards Qantas Credit Card.

Go for another cheaper alternative
Fees are some of the highest. They are quick to charge a $35 fee and have a terrible customer support line. There rewards are gobbled up by their high fees. Go for a cheaper option. Full review

We stay with them because the rewards are good and the way we use our card for everything putting the cash on as we go thus paying it off as we shop. The convenience of paying it at Woolworths or Big W virtually all hours is brilliant! The drawbacks are the high interest rate if we don't spend enough and they have started to charge overseas transaction charges for websites whose url doesn't have .com.au which is a total joke!

I've always cleared my credit card monthly, generally paying via internet banking. In March I chose to pay by cheque; I went to the local Woolworths, which advised they can't take cheque payments. I went to the Post Office and sent the cheque two days before the 'due date', which would have been received by them the next day (due date latest). I ended up trying to contact them regarding the penalty interest but only got onto a number phone system, so left complaint via the internet. Do not get this Woolworths card; get one where you can physically make a payment, and preferably one with a phone service that is local and doesn't have the 'push button' communication. It's also expensive for overseas transactions.

When you compare what Everyday Money offers against other credit cards its an easy choice, with very competitive rates and a reward points scheme that actually means you don't have to be the Count of Monte Cristo to earn anything. But oh dear... the customer service is appallingly bad. To keep costs down, Woolworths have outsourced they're telephone service outside AU... need I say more. When we set up the card, they sent statements to the wrong address and later when we asked for electronic ones, they didn't even arrive. There's no email notification when your getting close to your limit (others now do this) and when you do go over, prepare for the worst. I see this card as a necessary evil, the rewards are to good to ignore and that's exactly the problem... Woolworths know this and therefore you're just another punter to them and you get treated accordingly. Be warned Woolworths, your reputation is slipping and your bubble is going to burst some point soon I suspect.

YesToo expensive
It is too expensive, they find any excuse to add little extra costs to the balance and when one wants to close the account they charge you more money. Just another example of money hungry bank executives. Full review

Broken promises. Suspend credit card if monthly payment is even a day late. When credit card has credit available they won't un-suspend the card even if the minimum monthly payment is paid. Full review

I bought a product on line with this credit card and didn't receive the item and had no response from the company when I tried following it up, I phoned Woolworth's credit card and explained what was happening. They then chased up the company and retrieved my money and also kept me informed the whole time they were excellent where I had failed they had succeeded. I would and have recommended this credit card to many people.

YesToo rigid with late fees
They do not give you any leeway on the due by date. If you are late 1 day they hit you with a large fee and the interest for the next 2 months. I have gone with another card that is a lot more flexible. Full review

Woolworths is Australia’s biggest retail group. In 2008, Woolworths launched the Everyday Money Credit Card to reward customers who shop in Woolworths group stores. Woolworths chief executive Michael Luscombe says the card was designed to meet customer demand for “simple, easily achievable and useful rewards”. The Woolworths Everyday Money MasterCard offers 2 points for every dollar spent on purchases in stores operated by the Woolworths group and 1 point for every dollar spent on other purchases. Cardholders can also earn 3 points for every dollar spent on Woolworths Select brand purchases.
