Key features: The AMP Essential home loan is suitable for first home owners through to luxury property buyers with loans available from $40,000 to $2,000,000. When you apply for the home loan you'll incur NO establishment fee ($350 saving), followed by NO settlement fee ($250 saving) and NO service fee.
The essentials include the choice between weekly, fortnightly or monthly repayments and the home loan has the option of 'whenever' extra repayments, so whenever you find a bit of extra cash you can throw it into your home loan, without penalties. If you find yourself needing the cash again, no problem, just use the loan's redraw facility (minimum withdrawals $2000).
The AMP Essential loan also comes with the option to split account, means you have the option of spicing up your home loan with a mix of a fixed rate and a variable rate. There is an extra annual fee of $75 per split.
Who it's good for: Home loan seekers who want a competitive interest rate and flexible repayment options to suit their lifestyle.
Any catches? There's no offset account facility attached to the AMP Essential Home Loan but the competitive interest rate means that you’ll be saving big on interest anyway.
