I have no problems with NAB products, however I feel that their customer service is confusing and lets their reputation down. My husband and I have had an investment interest only loan with NAB for the past 5 years. Recently the interest free term expired and we received a letter from NAB stating what our new principle + interest payments would be. My husband decided to ring the bank to find out what options we had in regards to taking out a new interest only period and this is where all the trouble started. The first much delayed email response we had did not answer our queries at all and attempts at a follow up email weren't returned. We then resorted to phoning the bank contact who provided different information to us again - by now we were really confused and just wanted a straight answer! To cut a long story short, we had to ring around to find a banker we could meet with in person to sort out our queries which took a number of days. I feel like for a very simple question, we had to do the a big run-around to get useful response.

This product is competitive with market interest rates, the offset savings account is fee free, low rate visa as well. Customer service with NAB far exceeds my previous bank, from counter service to telephone. I have switched all my banking and insurance to NAB (or affiliations). The only con I can even remotely see is that Homeside are based in SA, hence inaccessible. However this is a non-issue for me personally.
