- What can I do on Mozo?
With Mozo you can search and compare hundreds of credit cards, home loans, savings accounts and more, or get a free customised report to see if you’ve got the best deal. You can also check out reviews from real customers, and rate your own bank for the benefit of the Mozo community.
- What does Mozo mean?
‘Mozo’ is short for ‘Money Zone’. We think it’s quick, simple and friendly – in short, everything the banking industry should be.
- How do you make money?
Mozo makes money in two ways. We charge a fee to financial institutions when we transfer potential customers to them, for example if you click on ‘Go to Site’ once you’ve found a great deal using Mozo. We also host a small amount of advertising on the site to keep you up to date with the latest offers.
- Who’s behind Mozo?
Mozo is run by a team of experienced finance types determined to create a new and better financial services marketplace (you can check us out on the More on Mozo page). We have our very own Australian Financial Services License (AFSL), so you know we’re not a bunch of 18 year olds working out of a garage in between Xbox marathons.
- What are the Mozo ratings?
We’ve developed Australia’s first comprehensive customer rating system for financial services. You can get the inside story from thousands of real customers on everything from the bank with the best customer service to the highest rated providers of credit cards, home loans, savings accounts and more.
- How does your ratings system work?
Australians rate their financial institutions on six criteria: overall satisfaction, price, features, customer service, convenience and trust. Every month we tally the latest ratings to produce overall rankings for each institution. Our Top 5 tables list the highest ranked providers in each product category, from credit cards to bank accounts.
- How many ratings do you have so far?
We now have over 15,000 reviews from the Mozo community with more being added every day. You can browse the latest reviews by product category in our ratings and reviews section.
- Why are some financial institutions not rated?
To ensure the integrity of our ratings system, each financial institution must have a minimum number of individual customer ratings before we aggregate these into overall rankings. As a result, some smaller financial institutions may not yet have sufficient reviews to be included in our overall rankings. If your provider is not yet ranked, help us out by rating it now!
- How do I submit a review?
Just go to our Ratings & Reviews page (you can access it from the tab menu at the top of each page) and click on ‘Rate your bank’.
- How can I edit my review?
Whenever you write a review, we’ll store a copy on your My Mozo page. Simply log in to My Mozo and click on the review you wish to edit, or delete it entirely.
- Can I write multiple reviews for a single financial institution?
If you have more than one product with the same financial institution, for example a credit card, home loan and bank account, you can write reviews in each of those product categories. You can’t review an institution more than once in the same product category, but you can always edit your review through your My Mozo page.
- If I write a review will Mozo keep my personal details confidential?
Yes. We take your privacy seriously, and strictly adhere to the National Privacy Principles. We will not sell your personal details to anyone else.
- How does Mozo moderate reviews?
All reviews go through our stringent moderation process before being published. If a review doesn’t meet our review guidelines, we send the author an email to let them know that we are unable to publish it to the site. We also have a number of security checks in place to ensure that our ratings and reviews are not being manipulated by financial institutions or anyone else.
- Can people say anything they like about my institution?
Customers are free to write about their experience with your business, but reviews won’t go live until they’ve passed our stringent moderation process. Reviews containing inappropriate language or defamatory content will not be published. If you’re concerned about a review you can ask us to remove it from the site. If we agree that the review isn’t fair and truthful, or breaches our guidelines, we’ll remove it from the site. You can contact us on partners@mozo.com.au or (02) 90374366.
- Why should I trust Mozo?
Our data is 100 per cent objective. Unlike some other comparison sites, providers do not have to pay to be represented in our search results, and Mozo’s comparison tables and customised reports do not favour advertisers or anyone else, for that matter. The search results you get using Mozo show the products that best meet your criteria, regardless of whether those providers contribute to our retirement fund.
- Where does your data come from?
We have a dedicated team of data geeks who monitor hundreds of bank websites, news feeds and product alerts to keep our database up to date. We understand how hard it is for consumers to keep track of the latest rates, fees and offers, which is why we have an experienced team of researchers out there on the front lines doing it for you.
- How do your Health Checks work?
We have some very smart people, including a qualified actuary, working behind the scenes to deliver personalised product recommendations. You simply tell us your current product and some info about the sort of product you’re looking for and our nifty technology will instantly recommend the best products based on the details you entered.
- What is my shortlist?
Your shortlist helps you narrow down a search. You can shortlist products you’re interested in, and then compare them side by side. If you have an existing product and are looking for a better deal, you can also use your shortlist to compare new products against your existing one. What’s more, you can save your shortlist and return to it later, without having to start your search all over again. Your shortlist will always be in the top right area of the site – just look for the wallet!
- How do I save my shortlist?
Simply click on ‘save this shortlist’ at the top of the shortlist box. If you haven’t already registered, you’ll need to do so. It’s quick and easy – all you need to do is provide an email address and password.
- How do I access my saved shortlist?
You can access saved shortlists from your My Mozo page. You can add or delete products from your saved shortlists and compare products side by side. Once you’ve selected the right product for you, you can apply straight from the shortlist whenever you’re ready.
- Will you share my personal information with third parties?
No. We take your privacy seriously, and strictly adhere to the National Privacy Principles. We will only collect personal information that is necessary for us to provide you with the functions that we offer on our website. We will not sell your personal details to anyone else.
