Horrible bank with the worst customer service team

From the get go I should not have gone ahead with this. Their customer service team is just horrible, the lady that signed me up in the first place made me come back four times before she could go ahead with it. I have had employment issues and illness while trying to repay my loan. Not once when I called to find out about my options and get some help did they tell me about the insurance I had taken out on it. They also refused me a debt consolidation loan to help with repayments. Finally they have now sent my loan to the debt collector department without even notifying me and when I tried to dispute the matter they said they would have to get back to me within a week. That was two months ago now! My whole experience with NAB has been horrible. I was only 18 when I first took out this loan and was under the impression that the bank could help me along the way but they don't care about the customer, all they care about is the money and the extra interest they get when someone faults on a repayment.

Untrustworthy, shocking lack of customer care

Quite happy to take take take, disregard your loyalty, credit rating and the years you have banked with them. Actually talked me into a fixed personal loan (consolidation at 14.5%) and constantly send automatic (no checks) limit increases to my credit card even though they knew I was now on a lower income. Took THREE MONTHS to make a simple decision (their words) about an EXTENSION to my hardship and then sent me a letter stating I was now three months in arrears and about to default. Their excuse was they needed more info, I was in constant contact with them but they BLAMED me for being un-contactable! Taken it up with the ombudsman and their current excuse to bad communication is that they are on daylight savings time and I am not, so the person needing to talk to me about the dispute leaves her workplace before I get home? BTW I have not missed a payment since they decided to let me know I had not been granted the extension. They ignore my pleas for help to just extend my loan and instead expect me to pay more ($100 on top of existing payments) even though they know I am in financial hardship.. I have never missed a payment before and have been with them for well over TEN years.. I will be SWITCHING ASAP!

There's no better time to switch banks!
No application fees, very helpful staff, both in person and over the phone. The ATMs are plentiful and easy to use, and the Internet banking is secure. Their advertisements are cunning and colourful. I'm so happy that I switched banks! Full review
