  I have remained with this bank out of habit, having been a customer for approximately 20 years! Also, out of laziness, not looking into what other Financial Institutions have to offer. I guess, not being a huge customer, I have not questioned ban...       Full review 

  I have remained with this bank out of habit, having been a customer for approximately 20 years! Also, out of laziness, not looking into what other Financial Institutions have to offer. I guess, not being a huge customer, I have not questioned bank fees, overdrawn fees, or lack of customer service, not really feeling "my say" counts. Every client's say is important in other Industries, regardless of whether the account has a six figure balance or an agreed overdrawn balance. Your survey has prompted me to reflect on the service I am given, to question whether (just because it's one of the "Big" banks) I should change. Thank you for that !!!

  This was my first bank and they have always been slow to get anything done. Customer service always told me to go into a branch which was usually closed or only open during work hours.   ANZ were not helpful in freezing the account of deceased relative until all the money had been eaten up by direct debits. This was despite numerous requests. They took over a week to put us through to Deceased Estates Account area and then still w...       Full review 

  ANZ were not helpful in freezing the account of deceased relative until all the money had been eaten up by direct debits. This was despite numerous requests. They took over a week to put us through to Deceased Estates Account area and then still wouldn't put a stop on the account. Took an empathetic local manager to do it but by then it was too late. They did refund the account but not for the whole amount from date of first notification. Cost the estate over 15 grand.

  Every one of their employees has been helpful and friendly. I never had any hiccups during the last 7 years I've been with them. There are ATMs everywhere in the country, very convenient. Also, except for a few letters in the mail, they don't hass...       Full review 

  Every one of their employees has been helpful and friendly. I never had any hiccups during the last 7 years I've been with them. There are ATMs everywhere in the country, very convenient. Also, except for a few letters in the mail, they don't hassle you all the time about a mortgage, personal loan, credit card, or other products you don't want. Very happy with ANZ.

  I like them because since i am on a disability support pension from the government ( a pittance i should say) They did not say "because you do not have a regular income we can not help you. bye bye!" like the Commonwealth banks' response!       Full review

  Some of the staff who more experienced are just excellent. Some of the less experienced staff are just a pain, don't seem to want to understand and be helpful. Internet banking is easy, and very few glitches.       Full review

  With my bank account I get unlimited free transactions all for one low monthly account fee. I can overdraw $100 if money is tight before pay day and often the money is back in there soon enough to waiver the associated fee. It can be used as a visa debit account, which gives me the freedom to shop online or by phone with my own money. The interface for internet and phone banking makes it almost unnecessary to go to a branch, but when I do the staff are always able to help; fast and effectively. I can even transfer money to another account with the same bank by knowing only their phone number. Much easier than writing down and often losing BSB and Account numbers.

  Having seen other banks' internet banking sites I believe ANZ's is far better. When initially joining up many years ago I walked into many different banks to personally find out about their services, rates and facilities and was satisfied ANZ was the best at the time. Our original home loan was with them and I had no problems. When seeking a different mortgage with another company we had no end of trouble and because of bad advice, ended up losing a large amount of money. I wish I'd stayed with ANZ for our mortgage but we now rent. They have ATM's everywhere and many of their suburban branches are open Saturday mornings. Because of money problems more recently, I have often become overdrawn on my account and visa card. They have been wonderful in honouring regular bill payments in spite of these issues.   What I didn't know is that I could withdraw money even if I didn't have enough in the account. This gives you an overdraft until next deposit but is not easy to get back into credit.       Full review

Our branch closed down on Christmas Eve 2011 and didn't open again until 3 January 2012. I was in the bank just before Christmas Eve and there was no notice on the door and the teller or retail banker didn't mention anything to me (I am a business customer) but when I went to do our banking on the Wednesday after Christmas what do we find? a notice on the door saying the branch was closed until 3/1/12. I sent off a complaint via the bank's website and I have yet to receive a reply or even an acknowledgement. How's that for "we live in your world"? I have spoken to many of the ANZ bank branch's customers in our town and none are impressed by the branch's decision to close during that period.
