      Bank of Queensland is just another (unfortunately) necessary corporate institution, nothing special. Account fees seem rather random and interest rate is abysmal. Their in-branch customer service is OK but their online banking is pretty awful. Why do banks neglect their online systems? It's 2011, I do all my banking online and can't wait for Simple (https://www.simple.com/) so I can leave my bank for good.

      The product that I am referring to is a business cheque account. Until approx 5 months ago I was very happy. Since then, for no apparent reason, several of my regular employee payments (done via a multi payment) have failed. Despite NUMEROUS phone calls & emails BofQ insists that it is the 5 other financial institutions that are at fault. 1 maybe, but 5, I find very hard to believe. They have basically wiped their hands of it, so I am left with additional expense and finding more time to write & post cheques. The ladies at my local branch are friendly, helpful people but can't help me with this IT problem.

      The day I went in to open my account, the air con in the bank wasn't working and the computers were very slow so everything was taking twice as long as usual BUT the teller who helped my open the account (and all the others there at the time) was warm, friendly and personable; they weren't going to let something as trivial as computer trouble and being a tad hot break their stride! So warm, professional and cheerful. All the account options were clearly explained to me, and I felt I knew exactly what I was signing up for, with no hidden surprises.

And if you call they don't leave you on hold for long waiting periods. I recently went to them with a query about banking fees. Without any dramas they swapped my accounts to the NO FEES account. Im a happy customer.

      I have found they change fees to use your own money even to transfer money from one account to another cost a small fee and when I want to access large amounts of money for a holiday they charge fees for that as well.       Full review
