My Bank of Queensland is just down the road. When I have a question I just need to phone and I can speak with the manager straight away. My manager contacted me when he knew that the interest rates were going up so that I could fix my interest rate with was a very low rate. It saved me thousands of dollars. Because the bank is family owned everybody there are very friendly and are always willing to help. I would recommend to everyone.

Its great to be able to walk into the bank and be known, its the same staff every week. We deal with the bank manager for almost all transactions, it makes me feel like im MORE than just a number.
If you want personal one on one service, from a small branch, then i highly recommend the Bank of Queensland.

I have nothing but praise for the bank themselves and in particular the service.
When consulting them on any bank related matters they 'bend over backwards'.
The only thing I find a bit lacking is the lack of branches in rural areas.

When disbursing the loan which was a construction loan, as they forgot to charge at first disbursal the lenders mortgage fee they charge it at a later date when the fee was double. They would not refund for their error.

I have frequently been struck by an atmosphere of casual ineptitude (non-professional conduct by counter staff and others, incorrect information being given with insincere apology..... all laughed off as being an everybody-makes-mistakes kind of thing).
I would never recommend Bank of Queensland.

It has all we require in a home loan with a comparable interest rate and an Australian company makes us feel a bit more secure. As with all products it is always a good idea to read the fine print/terms and conditions as these can be your friend or enemy if you are not familiar with the product.

This bank set up a branch locally to us, selling their product as customer friendly, the manager came to our house, said they were in it for the long haul. then the branch shut within 12 months of us moving to them, it is now difficult to make deposits and we have no manager to discuss issues with. We feel they conned us. We have been locked in to this bank because of fixed term loans but will leave as soon as they end.

They are crooks, setting up direct debits and on their own accord taking the debits a day late each time to claim a ridiculous $40 each and every month. Fees accidentally taken out then put back once I query. I've since canceled all direct debits and funnily enough no late fees!

I have a redraw facility on my home loan which I find very useful for additional work to my house.
