At the initial stage, the manager of the branch that came out was helpful, but afterward, when I found myself in difficulty there was no help and when I sold and re-bought a complete debacle with contracts being wrong and payout figure charged for fees that I shouldn't have had. It was only through contacting the Head office in Queensland and going through the Ombudsman was it sorted. The bank manager is great and they have always helped me even when other banks proved difficult - also because of the type of bank that they are. BOQ castletown branch staff lied to me in regards to fees and terms of our home loan. this has cost us thousands of dollars in interest. the loans officer was on holidays and was replaced with a teller assistant (which i was not aware of until after we had signed) she has NO idea on anything, but we assumed she was the loans officer and therfore trusted her recommendations. they are rude and unhelpful. can't wait til we can change banks. – Aimee from Queensland, a Bank of Queensland home loan customer.   Reviewed 3 months ago

I sourced the best possible home loan and interest rate for us from all the banks and presented my findings to BOQ. Not only did they match it but they waived all ongoing fees. The bank manager knows me by my first name and always comes over to talk to me and see how things are going whenever I am in the bank. Some of the staff at the Bank of Queensland are very friendly, others rather rude when asked about questions to do with my home loan when interest rates fell late last year. At the beginning of this year I had to go into a branch and inquire about them, then was told they don't have to give the reduced rate and if they did it would not be the full amount. After arguing with the staff member they finally reduced the rate at the end of the next month.
