Their interest rates are better than most other banks, service is good - the only negative aspect is that they have a monthly ongoing fee.

The initial set up was easy as it was done through a broker, however the further through the prosess we got the less comunication we recieved from the bank and broker and were left to chase things up for ourselves.

Bank SA have been extremely helpful during our time with them. We have been able to set up a portfolio of loans to suit our investment & home loan criteria.
The customer service has always been fantastic - as an example when were going on an overseas trip they organised for us to have a credit card not linked to our other accounts with a limited access amount at very short notice (3 days).

When I signed up, things were not explained to me properly. I was not told about hidden fees when going from the honeymoon rate to the standard variable rate that equated to $1000. I specifically met with the bank manager and lending officer after getting really bad service from Bernie Lewis homeloans - and they still gave me wrong information.
When I queried the charges, I was basically called a liar by their 'customer relations officer' and threatened if I took them to the ombudsman. As a result, I went to the ombudsman and the bank decided to waive the fees - as I had a great deal of documented evidence that they were in the wrong. This was all really stressful and I sufferred many a sleepless night due to incorrect information and terrible service from someone who was meant to be a customer liaison. Finally, when I asked to speak to this person's manager, they told me that they didn't have one and refused to refer me any further. Don't go with Banksa unless you make sure they go through every possible fee and clause up front and save yourself a lot of heartache.
