  The products and rates at BankWest are great - and although the branch network is not spread to regional areas, the staff at the call centres are friendly and helpful.   The Initial sign up was a smooth process and setting up linked accounts was effortless. Online Banking is easy and face to face contact is pleasant. Only downfall is the small number of branches, but overall 300% on ANZ (my former bank for 15yrs)       Full review

  Remember, even when they are trying to be helpful, they are still a sales team simply trying to sell you another product. Make sure it is suitable for you and try and ensure there are no exit fees as if the banks don't know which way the economy will go, how are you supposed to. Try and push them a little further, they may not be able to reduce the rate, but could waiver a credit card annual fee. If you don't ask you don't get. Finally, over the period of the loan you will be paying the bank tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars, so don't feel bad if you take up hours and hours of your time.   The interest rate is VERY competitive, BUT they slug you an incredible $80 EVERY time money is drawn down AND an additional $112+ for so-called security inspection. These are exorbitant fees for the work involved. SWIFT transfers take less than five (5) minutes to execute and bank cheques can be printed in the same amount of time. So why charge $80?   They have competitive rates. The loan has everything you need attached like offset account, credit cards etc. Its both Easy to use and manage. The bank has clear user friendly online banking setup. Ive always had good customer service. You can use commonwealth ATMs so although WA based you can use ATMs across Australia at no cost.   The best thing about the loan is its got the lowest interest rate. The problem with this home loan is that if u have money in the redraw there is not proof of money being taken out from the redraw a/c. My complaint is still under investigation (2 weeks and counting and still haven't heard from them). whats even better is that the attendant in the branch couldn't find my home loan on their system.(i refinanced my loan just over a month ago)

  With the competitiveness in the market regarding home loans, it is difficult to work out the best loan for my needs. My experience with the bank was that they couldn't even work it out.   I wouldn't recommend Bankwest to anyone who needed a home loan for a quick settlement. My paperwork was lost at their end and my settlement went 10 days over the date.. Once it was all set up they were easy as long as you didn't have any problem...       Full review

  When we switched our home loan over to BankWest we were a bit hesitant as there are no actual BankWest Banks close by to us. However what they make up for lack of branches they make up for in great customer service, excellent interest rate (our home loan rate is the one of the cheapest around) they worked with us in getting what services and features WE wanted in the loan, Overall, properly the best decision we made, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone.
