This is a very sneaky bank. I find that I get treated like a person when I go and see them at the bank. My tip is to never go in to the bank if you have a problem yelling and carrying on - just go in calmly and it is amazing how much they will do for you. While a little apprehensive of the merger between Bendigo and the Adelaide bank, and an initial rise of $2 in monthly fees I am extremely happy to report that Bendigo's service hasn't suffered and their fees are still way below that of the big 4. All of which I have banked with in the past. My only criticism is there are not enough branches, however my home branch is still very much on top of my account and even reversed an overdraft fee when I forgot to transfer money for a direct payment. Something one of the big 4 banks would never do. I get charged transaction fees but I really like the fact that I'm not charged a monthly fee that all other banks seem to charge. That way instead of paying the average $5.00 monthly fee I have more control and can keep it under $2.50 a month in transaction fees. savings account is very expensive, costs approx 25-35 dollars a month.
