Nothing but problems with customer service. They sometimes misinterpret what is said and don't fully understand the problem and it only takes some serious explanation to work it out. I only use this acct for fuel now so it is always under a $1000.... Full review

I only use this acct for fuel now so it is always under a $1000. When I wanted to take the limit down from $10000 to $1000 they wouldn't at first. They are awful.

We have had a credit card with Citbank for a lot of years. It has been very useful for giving us a high credit balance and good reward points. They have been excellent at advising us when our cards were compromised and issuing new ones quickly. The cons for this card is the interest rate. If I needed a credit card and knew that I was not able to pay off the balance, I would not choose this one. Overall, a good card if you can pay it off every month.

Citibanks Credit Card gives me everything i need. Easy to use online banking, I was able to set up automatic payments and link to my other citibank accounts to auto pay the credit card bill each month. Citibank also ring on occasions to confirm purchases were made by me which is very reassuring given the amount of credit card fraud these days. I haven't found anything about the Citibank credit card that I don't like.

Citibank are not that great, they offer great balance transfer rates etc. But the service via their overseas call centre is awful, treated like a number and not a person. I don't feel confident they will ever deliver on the promise after a number of issues. I will be closing my Citi account once the balance transfer rate runs out regardless of whether I have paid off the balance.

Twice in the last few years the bank has cancelled my credit card because they believed the card had been compromised. While it is good that the bank is aware of possible/probable risk, I wish there was some other way of overcoming the problem, instead of cancelling the card. I have twelve direct debits that are paid from my credit card and they all need to be notified, by me, whenever I get a new card number and/or a new PIN, and this can take anything up to a whole day to finalise - which is incredibly annoying and time consuming. Worse, the last time they cancelled my card (in the last few weeks) they didn't even contact me to query the payment that they thought weas suspicious but which was one I had made and which was NOT a problem in any way - and I was left at the supermarket with a trolley full of goods and a credit card that wouldn't work, and I didn't know why at the time. If the bank decides to cancel the card I believe it should be their responsibility to notify the direct debits and, more importantly, they should at least check with the card holder before they do anything.

Despite being assure on every occasion that it would be, it never was. I figure if they can't manage the small stuff, why would I trust them with anything else?

I received my Citibank Platinum replacement card by express mail. I called Citibank to activate it. I then proceeded to cut up my old card. I then discovered that I had cut up the new card instead. Instantly I called back Citibank and explained what I had done by mistake. No problem with getting a new replacement again by express mail, without charge. To top it all, I have been receiving a loyalty discount for my main and supplementary cards for a few years already. Great bonus incentive for 17 years loyalty. Great service from a great bank.

FINALLY, when you ditch them, it takes about 10 attempts to ensure that your account is actually closed and that you are no longer being charged interest on your $0 balance.

The Citibank BP MasterCard offers cash back on all purchases, except those made at competing service stations, which is fair enough. The cash back offered at BP service stations is 5% of all purchases, including fuel which, with the current price of fuel, makes filling up at BP more economical than at any of the other service stations, even those offering 4 cents a litre off. All other purchases receive cash back of 1% of the total price paid. The cash back is applied to the next credit card statement and over the course of a year, well and truly pays for the annual $79 cost of the card. Iâ??ve had their card for 2½ years and have earned over $1330 cash back in that time. Be very aware though, that as with all credit cards, the reward programs are only worthwhile if you pay the balance outstanding in full by the due date every month and never take out a cash advance. If you fall behind, youâ??ll be hit with interest on purchases of 20.89%, which will very quickly negate any benefit you may derive from the cash back. And if you take out a cash advance, the interest rate jumps up to 21.39% and you enter a whole new world of pain. Most, if not all, credit card companies will apply your payments to the interest first, purchases second and cash advances last, thereby ensuring that youâ??ll continue paying the highest possible interest rate for the longest possible period. A rule of thumb with all credit cards is, if you canâ??t afford to pay cash for the item, you canâ??t afford to pay for it on your credit card. Your credit card should only ever be an extension of your available cash flow and should be paid in full by the due date every month.

I am extremely happy with the service. My Citibank credit card is the only credit card I have. I have cancelled all the others. I could not use one of my other cards in some stores. With another debit card, I was even (to my extreme embarrassment)told that my transaction was declined in one store even though I had $60 000 in my account. I have never had a single problem with my Citibank card. My Citibank card is all I need in my wallet when I go shopping, especially when I purchase airline tickets. The free travel insurance is fantastic. Everyone likes a freebie, but none more than me. My husband is so impressed with the service I receive that he has just applied for his first Citibank card.
