Citibank offers high interest rates on their online savings account. Overall security features are fantastic, as it only allows you to deposit/ withdraw money from the dedicated account. However, if you changed your personal details, you will be banned to do any manual transactions for at least 5 working days. The bad thing is, the daily limit is $10k. If you want to do more, you need to submit a manual transaction, and Citibank will call your mobile. Well, if you don't have mobile coverage or when you're overseas without roaming, then the transaction will be on hold or cancelled until they can contact you. Customer service is in India and if you want to track the manual transaction, it is impossible as they're not allowed to talk to the back office directly. Overall, if you have small deposits, this product is fantastic!

After changing my surname through marriage and submitting my certificate with the appropriate paperwork, Citibank imeediately cancelled my existing Visa Debit card before issuing the new card in my married name. As this was my everday account and had payroll paid in, I was not able to access my money for almost two weeks as there is no Citibank branch in South Australia. No one in Customer Service was able to provide a suitable solution, and not having access to MY funds for two weeks caused significant financial hardship.

They have a few branches open in the city but you can't deposit money directly into the account which is a nuisance. I know there are banks that act as agents but sometimes there are unexpected delays which frustrates me. I also like how Citibank is a supporter of the Crave Food festival which I love and this gives Citibank great recognition and reputation.

What is the point of having a password?? 3)not an easy task trying to transfer money, you have to hunt around until you find the transfer funds area 4) got so fustrated called them to cancel the account and I get told they cant. I MUST WRITE A LETTER ASKING FOR IT TO BE CLOSED!! 5) I Ask the lady what info i need to put in the letter and she says " Just your name account number address and signature". 6)I said well ANYONE can do that how do you verify the account and tell me its closed? do you post me something to say its closed? 7)answer........... drum roll - NO youl just have to keep checking until you dont have online access anymore. 1 word... PATHETIC!! Good ridance CITIBANK!

I tried to set up an online savings account with Citibank which was fine in the early stages of the process but then got very complicated. I received four different letters with complex and confusing instructions on how to activate the account. When I called Customer Service (which appears to be offshore) they explained the process but it still didn't make sense. To cut a long story short, I gave up. I was contemplating a Term Deposit with them, but now I'm not so sure.

I opened a Citibank Online Saver Account over a month ago and STILL cannot access funds. I cannot close the account either. When I spoke to a supervisor today and asked if the shear number of issues I had faced was typical, he indicated that it had "bugs". THIS IS NOT A GOOD ACCOUNT. I marked everything 0, as I believe options are based on outcomes. Not being able to access money deposited and ever extending "fix" dates makes a bad product worsened by bad service.

YesThe citybank savings accounts are there to get you to be a customer. Once you get comfy they lower the rate and if get complacent you get duped. I have 3 bank accounts with Citibank for this reason. So I have to keep moving to their new saving... Full review

The product cannot link to Credit union accounts and will not allow withdrawl through linked accounts I set up a savings plan but the bank refused to implement it I had to leave money sitting in my low interst account as they did not implemnt my direct transfer or believe tht their contract was at fault. If operated correctly the account it would not have costme $200 in interst.

However, I understand that it is to ensure the security of our savings and so I can understand the need for all the checks. I have always had very helpful and professional customer service phone reps who explained everything carefully. This is my first experience with online savings accounts and so far, I am very pleased it was with Citibank.

Many transactions dishonored and they charge fees when it is THEIR FAULT. Can't carry out simple requests such as increase to withdrawal amounts - I had to make four phonecalls just to have one transaction occur correctly even though they kept saying it would be OK, it wasn't. No possibility of talking to anyone in Australia so hard to understand and be understood. EXTREMELY UNHAPPY WITH THIS BANK

I have had my worst ever banking experience with Citibank. The verification process is extremely slow; it took 3 different bank account attempts to try have the account verified so I could withdraw my funds. When an account is nominated to withdraw funds to it takes 3-5 business days for it to be verified then they put your account (funds) on hold for another week - not sure why but I think it's just so they don't have to release it back to you. If you have problems like I did, every step of the way, the staff will tell you a different story every time you ring. I've waited 3 weeks to get my money and I still can't access it. All I want is to close my account, I will never deal with Citibank ever again. I should have left it with ING Direct which is incredibly painless in comparison. I thought Citibank would be the same - how wrong I was!
