Unfortunately, there is still a $4 per month account keeping fee. The best part of having a Commonwealth Bank account is the free accessibility to Bankwest ATMs and Commonwealth Bank ATMs in Asia, where I often holiday.

      I have had dealings withe the Commonwealth Bank for years. They have been most helpful in giving us loans for properties and offering us products and services to meet our needs. I see no cons in having a bank account with the Commonweath.       Full review

      Very disappointed that when things are good they fall all over you to help' but as I experienced some years ago I went through some bad times and now they won't show some compassion and allow me to prove that I have got over those bad times and can make another go of it. It is not only this bank but all banks probably do the same. It's called kick you when you're down on your luck and keep kicking. They don't help you up and let you get going again.

      I love my bank. Their online banking is awesome. Very user friendly compared to others I have used (ANZ, WBC). Staff always helpful on the phone and I have 5 accounts with them and cannot fault them. People should always research account fees that are charged and use online savers where possible to save on account fees. I find the term deposits are a great option too!

      For 12 years I have been able to deposit my salary cheque and then have immediate access to the funds by way of a clearance trigger on the account. Now in the interests of "protecting me from possible dishonour fees" this has been dispensed with except under manager's prerogative. They have all my banking, home loan, bankcard and personal loans over the years. My wife's accounts as well but still refuse to allow access until at least 3 clearance days, forcing me to walk to bank of qld cash the cheque and then deposit cash into CBA.

      Commonwealth Bank has an ATM located in every shopping centre and on most streets. This is great because they charge you an arm and a leg if you use a non commonwealth bank ATM. They have excellent customer service in the banks and offer excellent over the phone service. I choose to use this big bank because they are so convienently located and they also have been helpful from my very first loan to the most recent 'help get me out of debt' loan.

      Commonwealth Bank account has many features. If your accounts are linked, you can go online and transfer money from any account to another, pay bills, see bank statements, easily find past bills paid to keep up to date with direct debits from your accounts and see list of accounts to which you transfer money. Security is tighter with sms messages on you mobile with codes to enter before proceeding with transactions. You can change many things on your accounts online. You can also set up new accounts. You can also buy and sell shares online with Comsec.

      I have been with Commonwealth since I was in primary school and they helped me open accounts with them. I don't like that this approach has made me and others just continue to be with the same bank throughout life as it is easier then transferring. I am a part time student and working almost full time hours on very little pay, however I don't receive rewards or less fees on things that I would expect. I do not agree with a $30 fee if my account is overdrawn as this is such a high amount for someone like me. I do like that they offer students fee free accounts and I think the netbank feature of accessing everything in my account online is the best idea I have come across and a lifesaver! Complete access gives good flexibility and means that I can have a number of free savings accounts that do accrue interest. I have found that shopping online is cheaper and a time saving option with my debit card and I am very happy with this as an option of my card. Overall like any bank there are downsides and upsides to each account but overall I am managing my accounts online and through an accesible phone app and working out how to budget as time goes on. The complete access account is worth it, just make sure you tell them all your details involving your money and lifestyle and they will be able to suggest a suitable option which is very helpful.
