  Insurance is worthless!! I was out of work July to beginning of Sept 2011 and just under my limit & rang the bank to try to defer BANK charges til work started again early sept so I wasn't over my limit. I was told to cancel my card to stop the charges. WRONG!! The charges kept accumulating and now I have a dead card. I have made 6 months payments in 1 month & can't get my card re-instated til a review in July 2012. NOT HAPPY JAN!! the continual harassment and misinformation resulted in me closing all my accounts that I held for 27 years and going to ANZ instead

  It's too easy to be given bigger limits & to go over your capacity to repay with this credit card. It often allows you to even max out over your top limit by thousands. Need to keep a close eye on spending with this one.       Full review

  The rewards system is fantastic. I accumulated enough points to purchase a few items for my kitchen for my new house. I used the left over points to pay off money towards my credit card. This alleviates stress and one less debt to think about now ...       Full review 

  The rewards system is fantastic. I accumulated enough points to purchase a few items for my kitchen for my new house. I used the left over points to pay off money towards my credit card. This alleviates stress and one less debt to think about now that I have purchased my new home with my 2 children. I have banked with the Commonwealth for more than 13 years. Actually I had a dollarmite account when I was in year 5 and learnt from a small age to save well. I have my savings account, high interest savings account, visa, morgage and my 2 children also have their own accounts enabling them to purchase something of their choice once they are 18 years.

  The CBA credit card I have is probably one of the worst in terms of interest and fees, which makes me dislike it immensely! The interest rate is very high (over 20%) and never reflects rate changes. I wouldn't recommend this to people looking for ...       Full review

The interest rate is very high (over 20%) and never reflects rate changes.   We travel often and love the included insurance with the Platinum Card. Have claimed once and were reimbersed in full. Good service. It costs a large fee/ year but far less than if we had to buy travel Insurance for each trip. Also has a double warranty on items purchased with this card. Our computer broke down a few days after the warranty expired, but using the double warranty under the card ot was fixed for nothing except the card excess.

  I can always rely on my bank manager to look after me the best way possible. She has time for me anytime I call or visit. This is how a bank should operate. The customer service is outstanding, and I would never change my bank or branch.       Full review

  I've had a credit card with Commonwealth Bank for over 10 years and use it pay my all my bills. I'm very happy with the rewards points I receive as it's my little bonus.   Commonwealth charges interest on the entire amount that you spent for the month. Eg. I spent $2000 in one month and paid off $1500 before the 55 day interest free period ended so only owed $500. They charged $45 interest which was for the entire $...       Full review 

  Commonwealth charges interest on the entire amount that you spent for the month. Eg. I spent $2000 in one month and paid off $1500 before the 55 day interest free period ended so only owed $500. They charged $45 interest which was for the entire $2000!!! I called them and even went into the bank and spoke to the bank manager and they said this was correct. I now have an Aussie credit card and they DO NOT charge interest on amounts you have paid off before the interest free period ends.   Been with them several years, never missed a payment. But when times got hard, I needed some time to get on my feet, I got threatened with legal action and got no grace for being with them for a long time. It made things very hard for awhile, then i enquired about getting bills on line got advised they don't do that over the phone - go online and do it. I went online and the computer won't let me. I went to the bank, they can't do anything about it. I'm so sick of it, can't wait to pay it off and get rid of them.

When the Commonwealth Bank looked up my references back in New Zealand and saw my records over there I was accepted right away.   I love the product as it is very convenient and I can use it at home in Australia and when I travel overseas with ease. I have never had any problems and always get my statements on time. If they need to contact me for any reason they do by phone....       Full review

  Rewards points are terrible value for money. Recently my rewards were at 85,000 odd, which means $85,000 went through my credit card. This equated back to a $450 travel voucher with flights centres. On top of this most merchants charge up to 1.5%,...       Full review 

  Rewards points are terrible value for money. Recently my rewards were at 85,000 odd, which means $85,000 went through my credit card. This equated back to a $450 travel voucher with flights centres. On top of this most merchants charge up to 1.5%, so it costs more to use the card than if you would have used your savings/cheque/LOC and put the saved interest money aside. ie my $85000 in payments have cost me $800 in interest and earned me a $400 travel voucher. Also I have only just found out that the points were capped at 85,000 and since last May I have not been gaining any extra points, and have paid out at least $150,000 through the credit card.
