      HSBC used to offer high interest on their online savings account, but the rate is no longer competitive. Their online savings seems offer high interest, but only when you don't withdraw any money. That means, it's not really a normal savings a...       Full review 

      HSBC used to offer high interest on their online savings account, but the rate is no longer competitive. Their online savings seems offer high interest, but only when you don't withdraw any money. That means, it's not really a normal savings account, but a term deposit. If you withdraw even once in a month, the interest rate will become 0%. Security is very good as it offers a RNA token and you can easily use it overseas. One good thing about HSBC is that you can do overseas transactions online if the amount is small, and the fees are quite low. There are more branches in Melb / Syd, but still not enough comparing to the big 4. They offer Chinese / Cantonese services, but the big 4 also offer the same and even open on Sat in some places. I think if HSBC don't do more on their interest rate to attract more customers, they will loose their proposition very soon.

      The Online savings account from HSBC has been ahead of it's competitors for years. What I like about it - No monthly fees, ATM access through Westpac & St George ATMs (used to be any ATM), Branch banking option, ability to schedule BPay payments, and good forex rates. The biggest plus for me is the ability to walk into a branch if I need it, unlike some of the other no-fee accounts. What I dislike about it - Limited branch network especially if you want to deposit cheques.

      They have an online savings account with no fees. There are only a couple of ATMs, however there are no fees for EFTPOS transactions so any supermarket becomes an ATM.       Full review
