  I have been a member with Heritage for over 15 years, and I find that the personal service in the branches need to be assessed they seem to be very slow. I am actually in the process of withdrawing my account with them. Where has customer service gone? - it seems customer service is a hole in the wall now days.

  I think customer service could be improved on especially in certain circumstance. Being when one of our older children was very, very ill and needed me to pay his rent by withdrawing his money from his account (I also have a joint account with the...       Full review 

  I think customer service could be improved on especially in certain circumstance. Being when one of our older children was very, very ill and needed me to pay his rent by withdrawing his money from his account (I also have a joint account with them), they would not accept that I had a note from him with his signature on it (also I had proof that I was his mother) they took his card off me so that in the end we had to bundle him up even though he was so sick and he had to go into the branch to get his card back. He would have been in trouble by his realestate agent for being late etc. Also they would not let us transfer the money to the realestate agents a/c. It was a no win situation - I even asked for the manager, there was just no help at all and it was not like I was withdrawing his entire a/c down. So I was stunned to say the least.

  The product that I use through Heritage is primaraly a Debit/Credit Card which is invaluable when travelling, either here or overseas.   The customer service is awesome, they really do put People First. Most of their accounts don't have an account keeping fee. They also have an Australian call centre. They are a bank you can count on. (No pun intended)       Full review

  No cons. Heritage is, as far as I know, Queensland originated. Great, helpful staff when I have a problem. On one occasion last year my account was being accessed by an unknown source, and I wasn't a regular user of the internet, so an Heritage employee rang to confirm me of the aforementioned problem and asked me not to access my account until Heritage rang back and say it was safe to do so.

  I love heritage savings account because they have some free transactions every month and you only get charged if you go over this amount. Also there are no hidden fees or charges.   Despite better interest etc than the major banks, I have had nothing but trouble dealing with branches. I have tried a number of times to close the account but they have to date, flatly refused. Instead, they made me sign up to internet banking which is fine except you cannot withdraw all the money or close the account. Then they charged me $20 for not using the account for a while. When I again requested the money, they told me it would cost me $4. For me, every cent counts at the moment. The fight continues.

  Although this is a great bank overall, the only problem I have has been discrepancies in ATM payouts. Whenever I have not received the correct money, Heritage has claimed the machine has balanced, and refused to give me the missing money.       Full review

  Good range of options - accounts for special occasions, ordinary savings accounts, offset accounts for loans, high interest accounts to be accessed on internet only - there is one for every situation. Staff at branches are knowledgeable, friendly and professional. They ask relevant questions so they can recommend the best account for each customer. Their slogan is 'people first' and, although I've never been able to find a staff member who appears with an umbrella to shelter me from the rain, they live up to the slogan. I opened my first account with them over thirty years ago and would not bank anywhere else.

  The interest rates are good. and are comparable with others on offer. It is easy to link to other accounts and transfer between. There is convenience of doing everything online, but there is always someone to help if there are questions.       Full review

  I recently opened a savings account with the Heritage Building Society called a Target Bonus Account. This account encourages me to save by offering a bonus every month if i do not make any withdrawals during the month. I intend to not touch this account under any circumstances as i want to save up for a holiday. The customer service I received was excellent and it was easy to open and i would recommend anyone to open this account because a bonus is always an added incentive to save.

  I love the customer service at Heritage Building Society. They are very trustworthy and willing to help whenever I have a problem. I think that they could improve their interest rates and bring in extra rewards and bonuses.       Full review
