  ING Direct have fewer fees and are available 24 hours a day which means they fit into your day, not you having to fit into theirs. We have a mortgage and savings with them and their interest rates are always highly competitive. When interest rates were on the rise they did not pass one of these onto customers which says a lot for how they view their customers - they saw there had been a lot of rises so left one month as is. The customer service centre is in Australia making it easier to communicate with the person on the other end of the phone. If they say they will follow up on something and get back to you - they do so promptly. I have no issue with off shore calling centres but it is often difficult to communicate with the person on the line. I recommend ING to all friends because I think they are the best bank. It is all online or over the phone so you don't need to try and get to branches and wait in line - you can bank at 3am if you want to as well as call the bank at this time. Best bank!   I have had a Saving Maximizer Account for 5 years, when we needed a home loan there was no question that we would choose ING Direct. all our contact with ING direct has been simple and the staff have always known the product and been able to assist us. All of our queries have been answered by the knowledgeable consultants. Over the two and a half years we have had our home loan, the interest rate has been competitive and unlike some of the big banks, ING Direct has never increased the interest rate outside of the Reserve Bank.   I like the product being a Line of Credit but I dislike the interest rate attached to the LOC. I dont get any fancy features. The bank is very quick to send me letters stating interest rates are going up but were very slow to let me know interest rates were decreasing. I don't have a branch, only internet access.   I looked at many different home loans on offer with lots of different banks, credit unions, etc. I chose ING because they offered a very flexible product with no or low on-going costs, a very well set up internet site where I can easily access information, change details, transfer money, etc. Their customer service is excellent - whenever I ring them to request something it is done promptly and efficiently. Lastly, but importantly, their home loan interests rates are extremely competitive, and unlike some more predatory banks,ie, Westpac, they act responsibly to interest rate rises by the Reserve Bank and don't pass on more than the Reserve Bank official rate rise.
