ME Bank is exactly as they claim: the bank for the people. The offer good loan and interest rates - and high quality, in a bank that is, ostensibly a "paperless" bank. They are efficient, their interactive website works well, the staff are always courteous and willing to help. I can think of no reason why people should be wary of dealing with ME bank. I have been with them for about 12 years now and can only speak of them with high regard

Some 12 years ago ME sent a personal representative to us who clearly explained the policies and conditions of their product. The interest rate was very competitive then and still remains so as they have promptly reduced their rates whenever the RBA have announced a cut. On several occasions since taking the housing loan we have requested using the equity in our property for various reasons and ME have always been very helpful.

Have recently commenced a 12months Term Deposit with MeBank at a fantastic rate of 6.50%! It was very easy to commence (on-line) and the interest rates are extremely competitive. The only catch is that one must be a member of a recognised Union ... Full review
Have recently commenced a 12months Term Deposit with MeBank at a fantastic rate of 6.50%! It was very easy to commence (on-line) and the interest rates are extremely competitive. The only catch is that one must be a member of a recognised Union or Superannuation Fund (as listed on their website) - there is a long list of well-known Superannuation Funds (throughout Austalia). However, surprisingly, one of the largest (if not THE largest) NSW Government-run Super Fund (ie First State Superannuation which is actually the DEFAULT Super Fund for the NSW State Government) is NOT the MeBank list - WHY NOT??? This precludes thousands of people joining. Fortunately, my husband is in a recognised MeBank Super Fund so we got accepted. MeBank offer members outstanding rates but UBank does not have the restrictive conditions (of MeBank).
