  Have recently commenced a 12months Term Deposit with MeBank at a fantastic rate of 6.50%! It was very easy to commence (on-line) and the interest rates are extremely competitive. The only catch is that one must be a member of a recognised Union ...       Full review 

  Have recently commenced a 12months Term Deposit with MeBank at a fantastic rate of 6.50%! It was very easy to commence (on-line) and the interest rates are extremely competitive. The only catch is that one must be a member of a recognised Union or Superannuation Fund (as listed on their website) - there is a long list of well-known Superannuation Funds (throughout Austalia). However, surprisingly, one of the largest (if not THE largest) NSW Government-run Super Fund (ie First State Superannuation which is actually the DEFAULT Super Fund for the NSW State Government) is NOT the MeBank list - WHY NOT??? This precludes thousands of people joining. Fortunately, my husband is in a recognised MeBank Super Fund so we got accepted. MeBank offer members outstanding rates but UBank does not have the restrictive conditions (of MeBank).
