      Macquarie Visa Platinum card â?? simply useless. A whacking $200pa fee and a weak 1.25 reward points per dollar spent, redeemable for an average range of merchandise. Working out .25 points is a nightmare. The interest rate is the same as any ot...       Full review 

      Macquarie Visa Platinum card â?? simply useless. A whacking $200pa fee and a weak 1.25 reward points per dollar spent, redeemable for an average range of merchandise. Working out .25 points is a nightmare. The interest rate is the same as any other credit card. The only benefits for this allegedly â??prestigeâ?? product are the insurances (get them with the gold card), access to a small number of â??Founding Member eventsâ?? which you have to pay for and a Concierge service which offers advice but doesnâ??t actually DO anything for youâ?¦

      Macquarie Visa Gold card â?? charges a chunky $100 annual fee but reward points are matched dollar for point and they donâ??t expire. Rewards are limited to flights only but with any carrier and going anywhere â?? I have enough toasters and telephones so merchandise rewards donâ??t interest me! The interest rate is pretty standard but the offer of free insurance, including overseas is extremely useful. Also 0% interest on balance transfers from other credit cards for six months and 55 days interest free on purchases is the deal maker!

      Having run into some financial difficulty due to the current climate I am having problems paying my payments. Does the bank care? No, they are only interested in getting their money back no matter what the hardship to me. I will be looking for a card to replace it with a cheaper rate. They sold me the wrong card for my needs.

      My Macquarie Visa Platinum card has been great. I've earnt over $300 worth of reward points in the last year and the annual fee is only $200 - for Platinum! It's a fantastic product with great service. I was recently reissued my card with contactless Visa payWave functionality. According to the collateral it's available at the Sydney Cricket Ground in January, along with express payment lanes. It's a great product that I would highly recommend!
