  I myself, started banking with My State over 30 years ago, (cannot recall original name when I joined) I was following in my mother's footsteps. The changes over the years has improved the business. I will stay as the service is excellent and staff are supportive.   I like this home loan as it is simple and I believe it offers a comparable interest rate. There are no ongoing fees, I can pay more off it if I wish and there is a redraw feature to withdraw the additional funds. This is a really simple process to...       Full review 

  I like this home loan as it is simple and I believe it offers a comparable interest rate. There are no ongoing fees, I can pay more off it if I wish and there is a redraw feature to withdraw the additional funds. This is a really simple process too get a minimal fee. Also if I need to discuss my loan with someone I can pick up the phone and get a 'real' person or I can send a message online and they ring me very quickly. It's all just too easy!

  Mystate is our credit union- we have a business account, a savings account & 2 mortgages with them. They supply fantastic service in the branch & on the phone.   I like this product because it has allowed my partner and I to purchase a property in what is a downward spiraling market. Other banks would not allow us to purchase due to the stringent procedures in which banks are abiding by at the current time.   My personal adviser has always been available at short notice whether its in person, phone or email. The loans call center answer any and all questions relating to my home loan quickly and knowledgeably. All terms of contract are explained in plain english and questions are welcomed. I was advised to also have an offset account which doubles as a debit card with NO FEES :) I don't have any cons, they are an awesome bank.

  The service with our bank is very up and down. Front service is good but behind is normal and needs work. Their products need improving to keep up with other banks before they merge with other banks.       Full review

  I have complete faith in Mystate. A few times we have been behind in our mortgage and they have always rung and talked us through what we could do to keep ourselves on track. They have never intimidated us or made us panic about losing our house.       Full review

  This product has been excellent. The fixed interest on this product has been perfect for us. Easy payments, easy to fit into budget, perfectly tailored payments fitting to our income without having the worry of rising interest rates, at least until the end of this year. I would definitely recommend this product. Its a well suited product for anyone I think. My State Financial's interest rates on products are fairly competitive compared to other financial institutions. Their information on products is easily accessible and explained very clearly. Customer Service at My State financial has gone a little downhill though since the merger though. When we first got our home loan, they were great! and went out of their way to help us with some of the issues we faced. I felt very comfortable, confident and happy about being a member of my state financial. Now though, after being with them for a few years, It feels like any other bank when I walk in their building. The service has gone from 'Hi. How can I help you today?' to 'Next!'. I use the My State financial website often Its easy to use. I'm hoping they'll put something on there that lets you manage and set up future payments. Maybe they have and I've just missed it ;)

  They are real people that will do anything to help you, i get free unlimited eftpos transactions and if i get into any trouble falling behind in my mortgage they are only too happy to help me and give me the time i need to catch up- real people!!!!       Full review

I was also given verbal encouragement at the way I handled the repayments.   Despite several mergers and now on the stock market, MyState continues to provide the same friendly 1:1 service I first received when I joined the original Teachers'Credit Union back in 1973. I became so tired of the impersonal service I received from one of the Big 4 banks, I moved everything over to MyState about 10 years ago. Even though management changes have occurred, I always feel a valued member and they have given me sound and correct financial advice over the decades. Also, this is a Tasmanian firm headed by a Board for whom we vote as shareholders. The Directors are only paid an honorarium and most are teachers, nurses and members of the police force, so they have a particularly thorough understanding of how the average Tasmanian household is faring in these turbulent economic times. A fantastic bank/credit union which actually listens to its members!
