I wouldn't reccomend the NAB personal loan to anyone simply because of the hassle it is to actually get the money they loan you. I chose to get an unsecured loan, to purchase two behicles as one of our cars had mechanical problems and was unusable, and then two weeks later the other was written off in an accident. This left us with no way other than walking to get to work (it was middle of winter) and no way to get our child to school or daycare. I sent in my application, got approval and then went into the bank to sign the documents. This process took well over a week. Then, as NAB won't just put the money into your account, I had to locate two cars, pay the deposit on them both from my bank account (not the loan money) and secure them both before going back to NAB to get cheques written out. I waited two days for an appointment as the only person at the branch that could do it was away. It all turned into a long, drawn out process that in the end made us purchase one vehicle that wasn't what we wanted as we had to secure the first vehicle, and the first vehicle amount was under the limit for NAB to release the funds. All very frustrating. Then, a few days after I made my first payment, NAB automatically withdrew the minimum monthly payment out of my bank account, which I had not set up. I then had to wait another few days for this to be reversed, leaving me short of money again. NAB customer service when you phone them is great, however I would never get a loan with them again.

YesThe NAB were most helpful in supplying all the information about the loan. One should be aware of all costs. I am happy that there is no penalty if the loan is paid off early, and if you are well ahead in your payments and suddenly you need money ... Full review

I am happy that there is no penalty if the loan is paid off early, and if you are well ahead in your payments and suddenly you need money in a hurry you may drawdown cash. I am very happy with my NAB Loan.

I have been with NAB for 35 years and had fully paid out my home loan. I found myself in a spot of bother and applied for a small personal loan and was knocked back rudely, without explanation and left feeling totally deflated after years of loyalty. I ended up applying with the CBA and the loan was approved the same day with very satisfactory conditions. I have since moved all my banking products over to CBA. NAB should be ashamed for treating loyal customers like me so atrociously, I would never recommend them again.

I am very happy with the personal loan and the speed at which it was approved I went into NAB branch and the lady was so helpful and got things moving very quickly. I was called back a few days later and I went in and she transferred the money straight in. I couldnt believe it. I needeed this loan and was so happy to get it it has taken a lot of stress out of my life. I would recomend NAB to anyone I have been with them for almost 40 years.

I tried to get a personal loan with NAB & while I had no trouble getting the loan, the service was terrible! Constantly contacting them and being promised someone would phone me back, a different customer service representative every time. They were very rude and unhelpful, and in the end I went with a different bank. I still do my other banking with NA and I find their net banking very easy to use, and have little need to ever speak to a customer service representative.

They should abolish the $10 monthly admin fee for those on internet banking, who rarely visit a branch for face to face assistance, therby keeping their staff costs down and profits up!

For years I have been banking with NAB earning in excess of $50k pa and they were most helpful in sending me credit cards without request, telephone calls asking me would I like to borrow more money and basically 'pushing' these issues. My how things changed when I lost my job and still had bills to meet. I was embarrassed and worried and needed help. Yes I rang NAB on several occassions and they simply did not want to know about "my problems" and was bluntly told "no." They could not look at giving me a loan to amalgamate my current loans in order to meet my bills and avoid bankruptcy and bad credit rating. They did not want to know and treated me as a stranger and there was no exceptions for being a loyal NAB customer. Since I have changed to Westpac (much better services) and they have sorted my superannuation out, provided a budget for me and helped with those Bankruptcy papers.
