  I have found over the past 10+ years to be at the highest level of customer service whether it be in person at any branch, or through their national call centres. However, any thoughts I have had regarding changing banks have been due to fees and...       Full review 

  I have found over the past 10+ years to be at the highest level of customer service whether it be in person at any branch, or through their national call centres. However, any thoughts I have had regarding changing banks have been due to fees and charges I incur for excess transactions. I don't like to carry large sums of cash on me, and have always been against retail stores holding cash on their premises which incites robbery etc. I enjoy the convenience of eftpos and the use of the visa debit option for online purchases etc. I think that with the modern shopper, there should be more leniency for people who do utilise these computerised options of payment.

  The Debit Card itself is an awesome idea, however there needs to be better interest or rewards system in place to encourage people to sign up or stay with this card. I suggest even a charity support program, so when you either spend a certain amount in a month or save a certain amount 5 to 10% should be donated by the bank to the charity of the cardholder's choice from a list providered by the bank.

  Do not like the fact that you are charged a transaction fee for looking up how much money you have in your account if your go over the 10 free each month. They have your money to do with what they please and yet it costs you to get to it.       Full review

  My debit card is like having a credit card that does not cost me anything. I know how much I have in my account, that it is my own money and that I cannot go over that amount. I have not gotten into any trouble with this product, and would recomm...       Full review 

  My debit card is like having a credit card that does not cost me anything. I know how much I have in my account, that it is my own money and that I cannot go over that amount.   When I approached them earlier this year, I was made extremely welcome and had no idea what they had, So I told them what I needed and the lady looking after me was fantastic, she answered all my questions, gave me the advice I needed and I opened an account there and then. I have made phone calls with queries and the staff have been extremely pleasant nothing was to much trouble for them. Internet banking and paying bills is very simple.   Can't comment on comparison with other debit cards, but I think if insufficient funds are available and you have funds to cover in savings a phone call/ sms or email could alert you to insufficient funds. Instead they whack a dishonor fee on, when...       Full review

  I love Newcastle Permanent! I don't get charged any fees for using my debit/credit card if I use it for eftpos and at Newcastle Permanent, Westpac and St George ATM's. There are also no charges for internet or phone banking. The monthly newsletter lets me know of any new services available. The staff in branches are always friendly and very helpful. Recently I got a phone call on my mobile from Newcastle Permanent to inform me that my card had been cancelled as I had used it at a shop where police had found a scanner. No money was missing from my account and I visited a branch that afternoon and ordered a new card which arrived in only a few days. I am a very happy customer

  Fantastic love the fact you can use as a credit/debit card. Everyone accepts and think the bonus is no chance of spending more money than you have available. There is one downfall. You can only use as debit card in Woolwoths,Big W,, Dan Muphy etc....       Full review

  I like the debit card, it can be used as a credit card for online transactions if no cash out required at an eftpos terminal use credit selection as no transaction fee charged. It saves carrying excess money around and is far more secure. The online banking service at Newcastle Permanent is easy to use and money transfers to other accounts and Bpay are time saving and a convenience I would not be without.

  I find them very easy to deal with, the only problem you must always use credit as you you only get 6 cash eftpos transaction per month. The staff are always very friendly and helpful, home loan is comparable to the big banks       Full review
