  They were very accommodating when I applied for the loan. This was done over the phone. I later had a question that was answered to my satisfaction immediately. If there was anything I needed to know and the person wasn't sure, they would find out for me and call me back later the same day. One thing they tell you is to let them know immediately if you are going to be late with a payment. They are very understanding and help as much as possible.

  They do not inform customers of changes. They will not help their customer out when struggling. They also have a stupid untrue advertisement that states their customers love St George banks, everyone I have spoken to has had the same experience as...       Full review

  Car loan/finance with St George applied through Zups, Very convenient to apply for. Penalties for paying loan of early which is disappointing! I had a very bad experience with their customer service. First I had no advice on when and how to pay, I was expecting a monthly bill and statement instead a week later I got a aggressive call from a "Debt collector" threatening to remove the car from my house. As I failed to make the first payment in time â?? I was just waiting for the bill. I don't think I will be moving my home loan to this bank. Can't wait to pay off the contract and have nothing to do with these them! I have never received a statement or account balance.

  Branch staff always friendly and never a big line up, which is much better than my previous bank. They are helpful, quick and courteous. My main gripe would be there's few local branches on the Sunshine Coast so it's quite a drive to get to my nea...       Full review 

  Branch staff always friendly and never a big line up, which is much better than my previous bank. They are helpful, quick and courteous. My main gripe would be there's few local branches on the Sunshine Coast so it's quite a drive to get to my nearest branch. Plenty of Westpac ATM's though so access to money without paying ATM fees is fine. Also the dishonour fee is steep if money isn't cleared in time for a direct debit to go out. I no longer have any direct debits on my account as I work free lance. Any cheques I receive I can deposit through the post office, but they take at least 4 days to clear...too long, especially when they're cheques from govt or big commercial businesses and not private.
