Fairly low fees and charges compared to other banks, always very polite and helpful, very convenient debit card which made me get rid of that pesky credit card from another bank. Tons of ways to set up your accounts which helps with savings & bills. So when the time is right i will also be getting a home loan through this bank.

I got my debit card several years ago and sometimes there are charges on my statement that I don't understand. This is because they are either new charges and the reading material about them has been too detailed and complex, or I have forgotten the explanation from years ago. Would like to get updates once a year or so to remind me what the fees mean.

Teacher's Credit union is awesome! We have travelled around the world and never had any trouble using the card and the fees are similar or often less than the major banks. Customer service is great, even when overseas. I love that I can use this card with the safety of a credit card but using my own money. I guess one downside is that there are not too many branches, though there are plenty of places you can go to do banking (post office etc). I've never really found this to be a problem except once when I wanted to change my PIN.

I like this product because it is so easy to use and gives me the freedom to spend or save as much or as little as I choose. You can only spend the money you have, therefore not building up a credit debt. There is no annual fee although there is a monthly charge for the account. It is accepted by all retail merchants here and overseas. There are ATMs conveniently located with access to NAB as well (no transaction fee!!). Unfortunately it is a closed business only admitting education members and their family members. If it were open to the public it would rival the big 4!!!

This product is the same as the other financial institutions in its base service. I have found that although a branch office is very difficult to access - only 3 I believe, there is always a way to do your banking. This debit card does not require a branch to make deposits rather you can make them at your local National Bank (with the appropriate encoded depsit book) or at the local Post Office. Transaction is processed instantly, giving an accurate current balance (when using Post Office and Debit Card). Your Debit Card may then be used to draw against deposit, just receipted, with no xx days waiting for clearance - including cheque deposits. The Credit Union now offers two similar base products that debit card may be used through. Ove has an account keeping fee of $5 with wonderful access and products attached. The other no fee but more limited prodicts - no direct branch activity without an extra fee etc. This is over ridden if the account holder is a pension receipant fram Centerlink.

I typically don't incur any or very little in the way of merchant fees, and allows you to pay for my purchases using my money through Visa. The credit card also gives me a credit limit which is lower in terms of interest than most banks and lines of credit lenders. EFTPOS is available as well as being able to use the card overseas. The cards are issued with chips that meet global standards being for card security. The other aspect I like about this service is that I am limited on the amount I can use for the ATM or EFTPOS.
