      I have had a TCU savings account since I was a child, and have never had to pay fees! I love that by simply having my pay deposited each month, I avoid an account keeping fee. The atm and eftpos transaction limits are very generous, and the TCU are great with identifying fraudulent transactions and dealing with them quickly. I would say though that the only downside is the lack of TCU dedicated ATMs and branches. If you are happy to do all banking online and over the phone (which is more convenient I feel), then TCU is great.

      Why would you bank anywhere else. They have travel help, can find you a car whilst you are working. Keen friendly staff and only a phone call away. It's great to be able to have a debit card, because if you don't have funds you can't get into debt       Full review

      there are no ATM's of theirs around. I was always racking up $20-$30 of fees every month, no branches around to deposit a cheque and had to travel a distance to deposit. Overall fees are too large and it's a bank with limited facilities.       Full review

      The branches are only in Sydney, so you must go through the post office to cash cheques etc....Contact therefore is via mail, fax, or you must wait till they come visit once a year for you to talk to someone physically. The fees and accounts are e...       Full review 

      The branches are only in Sydney, so you must go through the post office to cash cheques etc....Contact therefore is via mail, fax, or you must wait till they come visit once a year for you to talk to someone physically. The fees and accounts are easy to set up and they do look after their teachers with food/drink events for being a member. Their mortgage interest rate is not the cheapest, however, it is in the top 3 banks for the lowest interest rate. I would not change!

      The best thing I did was change from NAB to Teachers Credit Union. I can always find an ATM and it is easy do to my banking as I can use any Australian Post which is very important to me as I have had to move to remote parts of Australia. Fees are minimal and the customer service representatives on the phone are always helpful and full of extra information. I find their service so good I only today recommended my parents to join!

      I like banking with the Teachers Credit Union as their online banking is very efficient. Another great thing about this bank is they now have a branch in NEWCASTLE! The only thing I dislike is the interest on my savings account. I put money away and the interest never really builds up but that's really my own fault as I keep spending it.

      This product has been the best I have seen. The Teachers Credit Union is very helpful in any situation and when I call for service the phone is picked up by a person, not a whole list of options like the others. You are directed to the proper person for your situation and it is attended to while you are calling and there are no "cannot" answers. I have never been happier with the online facilities and its ease of operation. There are no ATM fees when withdrawing from either their ATM or Commonwealth or National or any other credit union ATM.

      Overall, I am very happy with Teachers Credit Union. The available network of Redi-Tellers is extensive. There is some inflexibility within the structure of accounts, but overall things are good and the customer is well cared for. I like the fact that customer service is available in a small number of physical locations, as well as by phone, (although I'd like the option for that phone number to be NOT a 13 type number as they're expensive to phone from a mobile and from VoIP) and also via web-chat.

      When I was a foundation member their were no fees for withdrawals, then we had about 45 free ones a month which I think now is about 8. One month it cost me an extra $200 for these fees. NOT IMPRESSED!       Full review

      Teachers Credit Union is a non-for-profit organisation whose core purpose is to provide good customer service, they solve problems quickly and efficiently and don't hesitate in doing what's best for the customer. Since redi-atm and NAB have integrated their ATM networks it is easy and convenient to access your money at any location. Furthermore it provides higher interest on savings than the big four banks.
