I recently go a ubank term deposit. The rate is very competitive but I have had problems with their service. I had to mail the cheque as they could not do electronic transfer from my bank. It took four days for them to "receive" the cheque and a further 5 days for it to clear. All during this time I got reminders by email and snail mail to deposit the funds they had already received. UBank don't allow interest on the day they receive your money. I was conned into thinking the identification process would be simple and straightforward - far from it in fact. I felt deceived. I love the high "Introductory" interest rate from the UBank and their awesome customer service experience. But the interest rate was just decreased recently, it would be the thing I dislike. Although it's an introductory rate, we got 8.5% on our 3 month Term Deposit. Application was very easy, the deposit of funds just as easy (BPay, Direct Credit or Cheque are the options) and the options on maturity provide all reasonable alternatives.
