  I like it because we enquired about a personal loan and they added the amount within 48hrs. They added it to our home loan and then readjusted our monthly payment. And we had our money for home renovations. It certainly pays to ask your bank, and ...       Full review 

  I like it because we enquired about a personal loan and they added the amount within 48hrs. They added it to our home loan and then readjusted our monthly payment. And we had our money for home renovations. It certainly pays to ask your bank, and not presume that you are not eligible. There are always new packages & services within the bank, these are changing all the time and there maybe something there for you. The Sales staff are well trained and very informative, they make it easy to understand, and will go out of their way to help you, whatever the circumstances. If you are having any sort of financial problems don't let it continue too long, go and talk to your bank, odds are they will be able to help, and what seemed to be a large problem is solved in a short period of time, and you can feel secure once again.   I think that Westpac home loans are reliable, but fairly middle of the road, they don't offer things to us that others banks can and I am aware that they are making a great deal of money from our interest payments so feel quite ambivalent.       Full review

  I like this product because I have had the best customer service from the team at Murray Bridge branch when I was transferring from another bank to them. They were very efficient and on time with no delays and best of all they are always there for any information and help along the way. Their interest rate is pretty good at the moment, and i last transfered my business accounts over to Westpac as well.

  Although it is disappointing to hear what is happening currently with Westpac staff, we do not have any issues with the bank.   I had a mortgage with Westpac for many years and now it is paid out but there was one account that I had to pay over ten thousand dollars which I still don't know why. I have now retired and am looking for another bank to move to as I do not think Westpac should be sacking staff and sending the call centre overseas.   Absolutely terrible. They changed my relationship Manager every six months for one that was worse than the last. I never received a call from them except for them trying to sell me something.   The product is only as good as the person who administers it. The loans officer of Westpac , Canning Vale, has been outstanding in her support for me and my ongoing investment needs while I have been working in Carnarvon as a teacher for the past ten years. There is no phyical branch of Westpac in Carnarvon. The officer brings the bank to me. People always need to be aware of the fine print and very clear on attached fees and charges. Equally, they need to avail themselves of added associated benefits - for example, professional package loan interest discount and Westpac General Insurance discounts and benefits.

  We have had 3 properties, and have used Westpac home loans each time. The staff are easily accessible, and are willing to go the 'extra mile'. For example - we had to clean out my uncle's house once he had died, and had piles of dirty old coins. The girls in the bank, the manager and ourselves spent an age sorting and bagging them. Nothing is too hard, or that is how they make it seem. We purchased our first house 30 years ago, with a different bank. Within one year we had changed to a Westpac home loan, and never looked back.   I have found that the interest rates for the fixed loan were competitive and the customer service is great (face to face) especially, but the fees attached to the home loan are shocking with the Westpac. This is not explained ever and after lookin...       Full review 

  I have found that the interest rates for the fixed loan were competitive and the customer service is great (face to face) especially, but the fees attached to the home loan are shocking with the Westpac. This is not explained ever and after looking into a fixed home loan with other places I have since found out that other places particularly building societies offer significantly lower fees hugely lowering the amount you payback over time, but now we are fixed and the exit fees are not worth a switch.

  I shall be reviewing my mortgage in March. The product ticks along nicely and I have never been charged fees even if the money wasn't paid in one month on time. Westpac online banking is very user friendly. I have 2 choice accounts and it is often difficult for them to distinguish between the 2 accounts which are different branches, which is sometimes an inconvenience but we get there in the end. I wish they had more ATMs at Foodlands etc as this would be handy. They do not contact me to try and get me a lower mortgage rate so I think that when I start looking I will inevitably change.
