This is a local bank with local staff who go out of their way to assist, best service of any bank I have ever used, this includes the big 4
Generally good customer service, competitive fees for account keeping.
The pros are easy, internet and phone access make life faster and simpler. In-branch and phone assistance is always friendly, professional and courteous. However, the phone banking service is somewhat lacking. Their computer does not always recognise a phone's signal and so registers 'no response.' This happens from both landlines and mobiles; frustrating. Also, the line will simply drop out for no apparent reason and so it costs time and money to call the service again. The Credit Union also 'costs' money in other ways. Given that it's MY money in my account and the Credit Union uses it to earn money EVERY night, their interest rates are appalling! (For their Choice account (S6,0%), their S9 account{minimal interest} and worst of all their 'internet' only {3}account has interest paid on the MINIMUM monthly balance! If you withdraw money at the end of the month and don't return your funds before the start of the next month, you actually lose interest for TWO months! How greedy have credit unions become when they market themselves as 'for the members' and yet rip off those same members with low interest rates and 'minimum balance' clauses? This Credit Union has forgotten its origins and mandate and is trying too hard to emulate the 'Big Banks!'
