Concerns grow about NetBank bugs
Friday 03 July 2009Serious questions are being asked of Commonwealth Bank’s IT infrastructure after the bank conceded that it cannot say how long its NetBank customers will experience difficulty accessing their accounts.
Speaking to the Sydney Morning Herald, a spokesperson said that while the bank was working "as hard as it can" to fix the problem, no timeframe for repair could be given.
The bank said that the problems began on Monday (June 29th), although some customers have reported that they have had difficulty accessing account details such as credit card and debit card transactions prior to this.
"I would be very concerned that [CommBank] have an issue like this that lasts so long," said a senior IT banking expert, speaking anonymously to the paper.
The persistent glitches are likely to be met with little tolerance from customers attracted to the marketing campaign stating that "NetBanking might just be the easiest thing you’ll do all day".
