Everything seems to come with an 'i' these days: iPad, iCloud... now there's the NAB iSaver. As the name suggests the NAB iSaver is made for your personal savings, offering a high 5.20% intro rate, clear of bank fee and transaction fees and balance requirements. iWin!
Key features: The NAB iSaver has a 5.20% fixed intro rate available for the first four months, which smoothly transitions to an ongoing standard variable interest rate of 3.75%. Unlike other high interest savings accounts, you can make unlimited deposits or withdrawals on the iSaver and your interest rate won't be affected. There are no minimum or opening balance requirements and all interest is calculated daily and paid monthly on every $1.
iWish! There is a $1 million cap on the bonus rate but you'll still get the 3.75% standard variable interest rate for balances over $1 million.
Who it's good for: Savers who want a flexible savings account that has a good interest rate and no fees. You'll need to have a linked NAB transaction account to open an iSaver.
Any catches? You can only transfer funds in and out of the savings account through the NAB transaction account. And the bonus 5.20% intro rate is only available to new accounts.

I absolutely love the Nab! They don't charge me any fees whatsoever, the internet banking system is easy to use and convenient, and they have great customer service. I'd recommend them to anyone, definitely the best of the big 4 banks. Full review

The i-saver account is advertised at one percentage interest for new starters but we older customers are not rewarded for our loyalty and we receive a lower interest rate. In today's society fairness should be practiced and loyalty at least acknowledged. As it is I have to close my old account and open a new one every four months to just get a reasonable rate - at least that used as a deeming rate by the Dept of Social Security for pension purposes. I cannot afford to go backwards with my savings in my later years.

I have guided my younger siblings away from the National Australian Bank as they have abused my trust for years. When I started working as a school student they verbally informed me but provided me with an information pamphlet listing the benefits for an account holder under the age of 18. One of the major benefits that convinced me was that there were to be no monthly charges for having an account with NAB or transaction fees. I was advised by another account holder within NAB I was able to raise this issue with a Staff member within the organisation and submit a request to be back paid. A Staff member advised me that this was no longer the case and I was unable to submit a request as they no longer offered the benefits to account holders under the age of 18 the NAB staff member also failed to provide me with information or evidence to prove they notified myself as well as other account holders of this change. I proceeded banking with Australian National Bank and created an isaver account to build interest. NAB made it comfortable and easy for me to transfer money between my every day savings account and my isaver account as I needed it. A few years later I was shocked to learn that the interest rate on my isaver account has been EXPIRED for almost 2 years and I have been charged a substantial amount in interest for money being transferred between the 2 accounts. I have since recommended Suncorp to anyone as i have had nothing but great service from the Suncorp team, weather it is face to face, online or on the phone and I feel comfortable to know there won’t be any nasty hidden secrets.

The NAB iSaver, an exceptional account for any person (pensioner especially like me!) wanting to make the most of their money, is the best NAB product. The everyday interest rate is 4.15%. However, the introductory rate for 3 months after opening a NAB iSaver is 5.50%. This rate then decreases to only 5.15% for the next 9 months. Only then does the 4.15% rate come into play - 12 months after the initial opening of the account. However, the joyful piece of information I discovered is that after every 3 months the NAB iSaver can be closed and a new one immediately opened, thus enabling the customer to continually have their money receiving the highest interest rate of all NAB products ... 5.50%. For me, this product far surpasses the 1%-3% of the NAB Retirement Account, and the limitation of the NAB Smart Reward Saver - within a month 4.45% bonus on deposit only if no withdrawals take place during that same month. I would, and do, most definitely recommend the NAB iSaver to my friends, need I say with great excitement?.

The Isaver account offers a reasonable high interest if you keep opening new accounts to take advantage of the 4 months introductory bonus they offer, otherwise it's the same as anywhere else. However the bank doesn't have any problems with people just opening new accounts for this purpose so I do. Because I've banked with NAB for a long this this is an easy thing to do for when I'm overseas etc. I can get better interests with Rabo Direct, U-bank (linked to NAB and at times ING) but when I'm away I like to have my money in the NAB because it's hard to contact those banks from overseas and you need a mobile to move money around

There has not been any problem regarding the account in the 10 years that I have had the account and they have always provided great customer service where staff are able to help you with any internet banking services and show customers how it works at the computers located at each branch.

There is no minimum amount you need to deposit and the money can be accessed at any time, simply by transferring it into your everyday account. There is no need for filling out annoying paperwork or confusing phone calls to access you money, and the interest rate is not affected when a withdrawal is made.
