Airline rewarded for boosting credit card security
Monday 19 March 2012
One of the main benefits of using travel credit cards is the extra security and peace of mind that holidaymakers receive. Many tourists will have some horror stories about their money going missing while abroad, which can obviously completely ruin a person's trip. The beauty of using a travel debit card is that if it does get lost or stolen, the owner can call their bank to get the card cancelled immediately. It is good to hear that airlines are stepping up the security of their credit card transactions, with Qatar Airways being the latest to receive recognition for its efforts to clamp down on fraud. The carrier – which serves Perth and Melbourne – has been awarded a PCI-DSS Certificate of Compliance as a reward for its work to protect plastic users. Only a few airlines have been granted this accreditation and chief executive officer at the firm Akbar Al Baker insisted that customer satisfaction has long been the ultimate priority of Qatar Airways.
