Aussies love 'European hop-on hop-off tours'
Wednesday 14 March 2012
With Australia being so far away from Europe, it makes sense for Aussies to see as much of the continent as possible when they do get a chance to visit the northern hemisphere. Europe is such a diverse place and each country has its own unique charms, traditions and cultures. It seems that a growing number of Aussies have realised that there is much to see and do throughout the continent and many are now embarking on "hop-on hop-off" tours that enable them to get around each different nation at their leisure. Speaking to e-Travel Blackboard, Graeme Ward, managing director of Busabout – which offers trips to 33 different European destinations in nine countries – said that Australia has become one of the company's strongest markets. He suggested that the favourable exchange rates mean Aussies get far more value when using their travel debit card in Europe. "With the Aussie dollar being so strong an increasing number of Aussie travellers are holidaying further and Europe is one of the most popular destinations," he was quoted as saying.
