New website could save people huge sums on hotels

Many people who travel to foreign countries on a regular basis will have been left less than impressed when finding out they have paid more for their hotel room than necessary. It is an unfortunate situation, but sometimes room rates fall in the time between making your booking and the night of your stay. With Aussies constantly looking at ways to make their overseas travel money stretch further, a new initiative launched by Trip Advisor could prove to be a Godsend. It has launched a new hotel booking site called Tingo, which promises to refund customers the difference if the price of their room suddenly drops. With rates fluctuating every day, bosses at the firm believe the idea could save Aussie holidaymakers and business travellers millions of pounds in the grand scheme of things. The site is being run by Smarter Travel Media, which is an offshoot of TripAdvisor and general manager David Krauter said the idea takes the gamble out of booking hotels and using the website is a "no-brainer".
