Qantas set to offer prepaid travel card
Thursday 19 April 2012
Prepaid travel cards are becoming increasingly popular across Australia and there are plenty of different packages for holidaymakers to compare. There are a number of benefits attached to such products, with security being the most obvious. If you lose your card while abroad, you can make a simple call to cancel it, which prevents thieves from stealing your cash. They are also a good option for Aussies who have a set budget to stick to, as you can limit the amount of money added to the cards. Many packages also offer guarantees that customers are going to get the best exchange rates. This week, Qantas has announced it is considering turning its frequent flyer rewards programme into a travel money card, Australian Business Traveller reports. In doing so, members will be able to use their loyalty card in restaurants, shops and at ATM machines while they are abroad. The fact that Qantas – one of the most recognised airlines in the world – is set to offer travel money cards reiterates the growing demand for the products throughout Australia.
