BankWest supports Let's Go Surfing
Friday 30 January 2009BankWest has again offered its support to the annual Let’s Go Surfing Day organised by the Disabled Surfing Association (DSA).
The event, which has been running for 23 years nationally, encourages those with disabilities to enjoy the benefits and excitement of surfing.
DSA president for Western Australia Bruce Peel is expecting this year’s event, which is taking place on February 7th at Leighton Beach, to attract more visitors than ever.
“Last year we had 75 disabled people plus their carers and about 200 volunteers. The volunteers we get are not necessarily surfers – we also get a lot of people who have heard about us and want to help,” he said.
Bank account and loans provider BankWest has announced that it is sponsoring two specialised wheelchairs that are used to provide beach access and transport to the surf.
In other recent announcements, BankWest has also this week published figures showing that many Australian parents are choosing a better lifestyle over private school for their kids.
