Mimi bemoans money misery

It appears Mimi Macpherson is the latest celebrity victim of the current cash crisis, with reports indicating that the model and aspiring property mogul has been forced to file for bankruptcy.

According to the Australian, the younger sister of Elle Macpherson, herself a mainstay on celebrity rich lists, had to declare herself bust just days before the Federal Magistrates Court would have done the dishonour for her.

Records dug up by the paper show that the unfortunate owes thousands of dollars to her mother, father and brother, in addition to an architectural firm which has long been chasing her to collect monies owed for a design contract.

And despite being close kin to Elle, thought to be worth around $70 million at the last check, it appears Mimi has got just $8 in her bank account.

Despite her efforts, it would appear that Mimi lacks the nous necessary to get ahead in the property game, unlike fellow Aussie bombshell Jennifer Hawkins.

The Daily Telegraph reported earlier this month that the former Miss Universe has been spotted on a personal tour of the Henderson St complex in Bondi.
