The Henri IV Dudognon Heritage Cognac, for example, is selling for a princely US$2.2 million, making this the most expensive bottle of grog on the planet.

However, people may take some solace in knowing that they will still be left with something more than a hangover after splashing out on this as a gift, as the bottle itself is laden with 4kg of platinum, yellow gold and 6,500 diamonds, perhaps making this something of a safe haven investment in today’s troubled times.
