In an effort to put a bit of fun back into sorting out bank accounts and credit cards, BankWest is opening up a store in Willetton, Western Australia, which isCredit designed to take the stress out of money management.

When it opens next week, customers will be able to kick back with a freshly brewed coffee and surf the internet, listen to music and relax in lounge-style seating.

The new store follows the opening of a flagship branch in Brighton, where consumers can suss out savings interest rates in a relaxed open-plan environment which the bank hopes will help to promote itself as something of a mould-breaker.

“Customers don’t want long queues and unfriendly teller barriers when doing their banking. Now, customers will be able to have a free cup of tea or coffee and discuss their banking needs,” said manager Kelly Phillips.

And it seems the bank extends its relaxed attitude to the older generations, with seniors recently invited to discuss savings interest rates and best term deposits over a cuppa on the 46th floor of the BankWest Tower in Perth.ADNFCR-1761-ID-18817378-ADNFCR
