Developed in partnership with Visa, and linked in to the existing Velocity Frequent Flyer scheme, the Global Wallet will be able to store multiple currencies and be used in over 30 million locations around the world. Existing Velocity customers will receive their Global Wallets for free, and all customers will be able to earn Velocity points from purchases made both in Australia and internationally.
The Global Wallet will also entitle travellers to exclusive seamless check-in and airport lounge benefits.
The forthcoming release of the Global Wallet is getting the travel money world buzzing, because it will be one of the only all-in-one prepaid travel cards around. Only the as yet unreleased Qantas travel money card will also offer travellers the opportunity to accrue Frequent Flyer points as well as provide access to check-in and airport features. Pretty handy!
We’ll hear more about the Global Wallet in the coming months. Check back here later on down the track to read our full verdict on how the Global Wallet compares to the rest of the prepaid travel card market.
