Yes, it’s that time of year again when the people of Australia give voice to their choice for Australia’s best bank, best mutual bank, best credit union, building society and more.
Now in its 4th year, the Mozo People’s Choice Awards are Australia’s only banking and insurance awards judged by customers. Over the past 12 months, an impressive 28,000 people have turned in a scorecard on their financial provider. We crunched the numbers and certified the results to bring you the Mozo People’s Choice Awards for 2013.

And the 2013 winners are…
Australia’s Best Bank: ING Direct
Claiming pride of position, ING Direct has taken out Australia’s best bank crown with an enviable satisfaction rating of 8.98 out of 10.
The Lion also claimed top spot for Best Savings Account, Best Bank Account and received a top 5 ranking for Home Loans and Debit Cards. ING Direct also took the award for Australia’s most recommended bank.
Australia’s Best Mutual Bank: Victoria Teachers Mutual Bank
With overwhelmingly positive reviews, Victoria Teachers Mutual Bank continues to show the rest of the banking world how it’s done.
Victoria Teachers Mutual Bank took out top spot for Best Mutual Bank of 2013 in a new category created to reflect the performance of Australia’s fast growing mutual bank category.
With the highest overall rating of any financial services provider, 9.07 out of 10 Victoria Teachers Mutual Bank also took awards for most trusted bank and best customer service.
Australia’s Best Big 4 Bank: NAB
For the third year running NAB has topped the polls as Australia’s Best Big 4 Bank with an overall rating of 7.76, up from 7.37 last year.
NAB also gets the thumbs up for its Bank Accounts, Personal Loans & Term Deposits picking up a Top 5 Award in each category.
Australia’s Best Credit Union: Queenslanders Credit Union
Qualifying for the first time this year and bringing it home in style, Queenslanders Credit Union has picked up the title of Australia’s Best Credit Union with an overall rating of 8.85.
The rising star also picked up a Top 5 Award for both debit cards and savings accounts.
Australia’s Best Building Society: Wide Bay
An excellent performance by Wide Bay saw it claim Australia’s Best Building Society crown with an average customer satisfaction rating of 8.61, sweeping into first place Wide Bay is one of the years fastest movers and certainly one to watch in the year ahead!
